I was avoiding blogging until Thursday. Let’s be honest, I’ve been avoiding pants for the last week and a half. I had given up on posting and knew I wouldn’t be back until the 2nd. However, shit happens. I’ll have a post for you tomorrow that you won’t want to miss that was last minute and totally worth it (trust me check back first thing tomorrow). But after an event that happened yesterday, I realized one big thing. This year has been fucking epic. And no, not just because of the bangs…
Yesterday I realized that Cathy of Poor Little It Girl and I are almost at our one year anniversary of Southern Blog Society. We’ve successfully created what we envisioned, threw a fabulous blogger brunch, met some amazing new blogger friends (and that is one of the greatest parts) and so much more. We even did a site makeover that has us gitty with excitement every time we log on. Couldn’t be more thankful for the members and readers that make that society what it is.
On top of the success of SBS, I’ve been able to make some amazing connections this year with bloggers, media, brands and everyone in between. I can confidently say that some of my best friends have stemmed from this little blog this year.
My photographer Beka is now a great friend (and don’t we just love her photos?) Tia and Ashley for making the schlep to grab a cronut, that’s what friends are for right? It’s nice to have people in the industry who get it and who can help you get through it too. I’m excited to see what 2014 brings. I’m hoping for more recipes to share, home decor posts and more great outfits to inspire. Hope everyone has a safe NYE tonight and see you in 2014!
