This trend came on the scene swiftly this past summer. Like many of you, I have been tempted to give it a try. I blame Coachella initially for making me want to make this trend. Because of the wind, we desperately needed bandanas to survive. We grabbed cheap polyester bandanas at Party City and they were so uncool that I have been on the hunt for the perfect one to style post Coachella.
While doing some fashion week prep a few weeks ago, I found myself in J. Crew and stumbled onto these $12 bandanas that are super lightweight and thin. They’re really perfect for rolling up and wearing around your neck. While I took it home, I was a little hesitant to actually go out in public with this on. Look, I get it, trends are trends, they come and go, but this one I actually kind of like. So I was determined to grow some balls and wear this thing. I feel like I successfully owned it in this look and ever since have been looking for new ways to incorporate this little accessory.
5 Ways To Style A Neck Scarf Or Bandana
So in an effort to make the most out of my $12, I’m sharing 5 easy ways to style a bandana. Whether you want to go all-in and wear it around your neck, or just add it to your jacket or bag, this is a must-have accessory for your closet. PS, I just love it in the hair. Here are 5 other ways to style it just for your hair!
The Perfect Bag Accessory
Add a pop of color and texture to your favorite bag by tying this around the strap. It’s a fun compliment to your purse and adds a little something extra to it to make your go to bag feel new again.
Styled As A Headband
Roll this bad boy up and tie it around your head for the cutest little headband. If you have long hair, could also be a fun tie for your ponytail. You can check out my ways to style a bandana in your hair here too.
A Fun Bracelet
Wrap the scarf twice around your wrist for a bracelet. Since this bandana is slightly smaller and the fabric is quite thin, this won’t be bulky at all.
As A Pocket Square
Simple and classic, why didn’t I ever think to pop a colorful pocket square into some of my favorite jackets? There are also tons of ways to fold them to get different looks too. You can check out this guide for some ideas.
