I’ve been a fan of M.M.LaFleur for several years now. Their Milo jean is a closet staple, I love their blazers and the cashmere and wool are one of the only brands that don’t itch me. They also make some of the best Pima cotton tees on the planet.
So when I found out M.M.LaFleur was bringing back their BENTO styling service, I had to give it a try. With just a few easy steps, a box full of new goodies that would help round out my closet was on its way. Here’s how the M.M.LaFleur BENTO styling service works.

A Review Of The M.M.LaFleur BENTO Styling Service
Step 1 – Take The Quiz
To kick off your BENTO styling service experience, you begin with a styling quiz. They ask you a series of questions from things you’re shopping for and things you prefer to wear to colors, sizing and more. Then they connect you with a personal stylist who you text for a few additional questions. And no, it’s not some AI-generated messages, it’s a REAL person on the other end of the messaging so you can chat about your needs, ask questions and so on.
Step 2 – Review Your Lookbook
Once your stylist gets an idea of what you are shopping for, they send you a lookbook to review via text. This has a variety of pieces to choose from and you can easily add them to your cart. If there’s something you’re not really loving, or you think you need a few more options for a particular type of clothing, you can let your stylist know.
My stylist sent me a few things that I absolutely loved. There were one or two pieces I wasn’t obsessed with, so I asked for a few additional items and gave some feedback on what I would like to see. For example, there was a cardigan sweater in there that I liked the fabric and print, but would’ve preferred the pullover version instead. Then the stylist updated my lookbook and sent me a new link. With the new additions, we nailed it.
Once everything was in my cart, I hit order and waited for my box to arrive. And if you need help with figuring out your sizing, check out my M.M.LaFleur sizing guide here.
Step 3 – Enjoy Your Items
Once you get your box, you can then try things on and add them right to your closet! I loved everything in my box. But I did think I maybe needed a smaller size in one or two things. Your stylist is still able to assist with this too! I texted my M.M.LaFleur stylist to let her know I think the silk dress was a bit large and she went ahead and helped me process an exchange.

My BENTO Selections
Nene Slip Dress
This is a washable silk slip dress and I have another print from past seasons that I just love. It’s cut on a bias, making it oh so flattering and it doesn’t pull anywhere and hangs perfectly. One of my favorite easy pieces to have in my closet. This print for fall and winter is really fun. I’ll be wearing it with a cropped sweater over it, or maybe even a tissue-thin tee underneath. I took a size small in this piece.

Scotte Jacket
One of the things I asked my stylist to shop for me was a cropped jacket. These are just such great items to have in your closet with all the wider silhouettes. I love the styling of it and the details make it feel so elevated.

Rajni Sweater
My closet was in need of fresh sweaters for fall and winter. I also only can really do wool at M.M.LaFleur as it is the softest ever and I don’t get itchy from it at all. I love the texture of the sweater as it adds some really cool interest. The color is also perfect for fall and winter and went with a lot of the pieces in my BENTO.
Viola Coat
Living in NYC has caused me to really expand on my outerwear. You just really need lots of options! I love the Viola coat because it feels light, yet warm. I also appreciated that the sleeves were lined—I feel like that makes a huge difference in keeping the wind out. This also went perfectly with the Ranji sweater and the Nene dress.

Butler Sweater
Another great sweater that’s a cotton blend and in one of my favorite colors, lilac. I just love a lilac or lavender piece in my closet as it goes so nicely with so many colors! Don’t believe me? Check out what colors go with lavender. I also went with a medium in this sweater as I found it ran more fitted and preferred a slightly looser fit.
Should You Try M.M.LaFleur’s BENTO Service?
This service at M.M.LaFleur is totally free and a great way to just get a little help in picking things out. I personally will always choose any sort of styling service when I can. I tend to reach for the same styles, colors and silhouettes which can have me feeling a bit bored with my closet from time to time. And having a stylist look at my questionnaire and needs, and provide me with options I never would’ve considered always makes me more excited to shop.
I have found time and time again when I do use a service like this that the pieces almost always become my most loved. And why not utilize a service like this especially when it’s totally free? You buy what you want, and there are no minimums to purchase, which is great.
