Time for a delicious, sweet and tart cocktail using just a few ingredients. The best kind of cocktails aren’t complicated, I promise! This one uses Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin and Maraschino cherries. The REAL kind. If you haven’t had the real deal maraschino cherries that are a deep beautiful burgundy color and not bright fire engine red, you’re missing out. This cocktail requires these cherries not only for the garnish but for the cocktail itself.
This cocktail is a nice tart and effervescent treat. I love cocktails like that. They’re such a nice way to end the day or a meal. And the sweet cherries at the end are really the icing on the cake (or cocktail I should say!).
Luxardo Sour Cherry Bramble Recipe
This cocktail is super easy to make. And although you may not have this unique liquor in your cabinet, I highly recommend grabbing a bottle. It’s not only delicious but the bottle itself is stunning. It feels like it came right off the bar of an old Italian trattoria. And you’ll thank me later when you spend the extra money on these real deal Maraschino cherries. If you don’t have sour cherry gin, you can use any kind of gin and just add a little more of the syrup from your cherries. And if you don’t have these cherries, don’t dare attempt this with those crappy bright red ones. Not worth it. Go all in or not at all.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 oz of Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin
- 2 Maraschino cherries with the syrup
- 1/2 oz of lemon juice
- Splash of soda water
Method
Step One
Add the cherries and lemon juice to your shaker and muddle with a muddler. Breaking up the cherries is key so you get the flavor throughout the cocktail.
Step Two
Add the Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin and ice to your shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Step Three
Strain your cocktail into a coupe glass and top with a splash of soda water. Garnish with more Maraschino cherries and if you like, a lemon twist!
