Whenever someone asks me where something is from and it ends up being Abercrombie & Fitch, the response is always the exact same. “No way”. Every single time. I think it’s so surprising to us Millennials that a store we grew up wearing in our tween years through high school is now all of a sudden back. And not only is it back, but it’s SO GOOD.
Even though it never went anywhere, we definitely stopped shopping there. So getting back to an old store from high school is a little hard for some of us. I have so many friends who are hesitant to shop at Abercrombie & Fitch. We grew up on A&F. The short denim skirts, polos with the moose and don’t forget about the must have perfume. But I’m here to tell you that you need to start shopping there again!
Abercrombie & Fitch has grown the hell up and it’s basically Madewell’s trendier and less expensive little sister. She’s cool, she’s stylish and she looks good! Also, their dresses and blouses are starting to look a lot like Reformation’s at a much better price. If this is your first time getting back to Abercrombie since the early 2000s, this post is for you.

Abercrombie Sizing Review
The first question I get any time I tell someone I love Abercrombie all over again is “what’s the sizing like?”. It’s a valid question since the last time most of us 30-something-year-olds wore it was when we were in middle and high school. And let’s be honest, we definitely aren’t that size anymore. And honestly, their sizing isn’t what it used to be either.
This probably doesn’t totally help, but I’d say I’m pretty much in between a small and a medium in Abercrombie. For reference, I’m 5’5″ and around 140lbs. I’m a small in most things, but feel like a medium fits better for my butt and boobs for certain fits and styles. It just depends. I’d say if you’re in between sizes, definitely size up.
For example, my cardigans, tanks and basic tees are usually a size small. Most dresses are medium to account for my chest. And for blouses, it’s a toss-up. For Abercrombie & Fitch denim, I’d say it runs about true to size too.
I find that I fit into their Curve Love line better. I am on the cusp on the curve fit for some brands like Madewell. The good news is though, free shipping. Returns are $7, but you can always return in-store for free.
For sizing references at other stores, I’m usually a small and a 27 at Madewell, a 26 or 27P at LOFT and Ann Taylor, as well as a small or size 4 in everything else. At J.Crew I’m mostly a small or 4, but a size 28 sometimes even a 29 in their jeans. I’d say J.Crew denim and Abercrombie & Fitch denim seem to be similar.
What I’m Shopping At Abercrombie
Loungewear & Activewear
Having stylish loungewear is one of my favorite things. Since I work from home and also love a good sweatshirt, I’m loving all of these fun pieces. Abercrombie & Fitch also has an activewear line with workout leggings, bras, and even the popular workout dresses.
Dresses & Jumpsuits
I typically find myself in a size medium for dresses. It’s almost like the smalls do fit, but I’m just more comfortable in the mediums.
A few things in my closet that I love are this little white dress and this slip, both in a size medium. A lot of their dresses have a very Reformation vibe to them. Not a big fan of ripping other brands off, but also, if you can’t afford Reformation, what are you gonna do?
Also, don’t forget to top your dresses and jumpsuits with a classic denim jacket. My favorites are below under jackets!
Tops & Blouses
Some of my most favorite tees and blouses are from Abercrombie. This little wrap top is a favorite and obviously the featured image above, my floral graphic tee, is so so soft.
I pretty much live in Abercrombie’s graphic concert and NFL tees. They are so comfy! And don’t forget to check the men’s section for them too.
Jackets & Blazers
Some of my most loved jackets and blazers are from Abercrombie. I love my blazer coat and they usually bring it back every fall with new prints, and my denim jacket is a favorite! They have great coats for winter from their dad coat to puffers. You can find trenches, blazers and lightweight jackets at Abercrombie too.
Plus, if you’re willing to splurge, Abercrombie also has several genuine leather pieces every fall and winter from moto jackets to blazers. And if real leather isn’t your thing, vegan leather is also an option and it looks really good! I have a vegan leather blazer that looks and feels amazing.
