One of the best parts about attending NYFW is getting to spend some time with friends you don’t get to see on the regular. After all the shows, meetings and parties, it’s nice to get a little dressed up to grab drinks and dinner with old friends. We decided to grab a big dinner one night with all the girls (and Dan!) to catch up. I’d say it’s my favorite perk about blogging, the amazing supportive group of people I now call friends. We catch up on the worlds longest going text chain ever about everything under the sun. However, it’s so much more fun to do it all in person with cocktails and good food.
I have been friends with some of these girls for over 5 years (Cathy and I just realized this the other day, wow!) and I remember meeting Kristin at Lucky FABB over 4 years ago. Numbers weren’t ever exchanged, but over time we began to see each other more and more. Eventually we became good friends to the point where I got to see her get married! It’s crazy to see how these friendships have formed and developed over time and I’m so grateful for that.
Since this NYFW I decided to stick to mostly sneakers for my day time looks, it was nice to throw on something a little fancier for hitting the town in. I grabbed this Express black lace midi dress right before heading off to NYC and it was SUCH a good buy. I ended up grabbing a few other things as well that I can’t wait to share from Express, stay tuned! Back to this lace dress though, it fits perfectly and was so comfortable to wear all night. I love the slightly sheer lace insets on it as well. If you’re also looking for affordable black tie dresses, this would really be a great option too! It’s a must for your closet if you ask me.
Needless to say, this dress will also be fun to dress down with a denim jacket which is always an easy fall back for a second look. Before we headed out for dinner, the three of us decided to grab cocktails at our hotel bar. I would say it’s definitely much needed after a long day running around the city. So we stopped into Langham Place Hotels’s Bar Fiori for pre-dinner drinks before heading out to meet everyone for dinner.
