After revamping my house a bit and overhauling the colors, I had to swap this bright pink rug for something new. I mean, hot pink? What was I thinking? Again, my house was stuck in blogger era circa 2012. It was time for a fresh update and I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money. So I was on the hunt for beautiful, quality kitchen rugs that were under $150.
I’ll be the first to admit though that finding a good rug is HARD. It’s really ideal to start with the rug, and then decorate around it. But I didn’t have that luxury. Instead, I knew I had to pull from my new colors that included blues, peaches and oranges. My new living rug (you can see it here) is absolutely beautiful. I honestly thought about just buying one of it’s sister rugs and go from there. But, I heard so many wonderful things about Loloi rugs that I wanted to try them.
I ended up buying this kitchen runner from Loloi through Amazon. I actually saw it on Jenny Komenda’s Instagram and blog here. She is interior design GOALS. And she sure was right that the photo looks nothing like the product. So keep that in mind when shopping Loloi on Amazon. The rug is super thin and doesn’t have a very high pile which is nice in a kitchen.

Essential Rug Pad
When you purchase a new rug, you definitely want to invest in a good rug pad. It helps to protect your floors while also adding some cushion. Which, in a kitchen when you’re standing and doing a lot of cooking, can be really beneficial. I’m about to upgrade the terrible cheap one that is doing me no favors to this one from Mohawk.
