When I think of spring closet essentials, I really think of this outfit from head to toe. The change of season always means lighter fabrics, colors and swapping out those heavy winter pieces. There are closet basics I swear by year after year. And lately, when I think of spring favorites to get me through the weird weeks of cooler temps and not quite ready yet to show off my legs, these are the pieces I reach for.
An Outfit Full Of Spring Wardrobe Essentials
Utility Jacket
Let’s start with this jacket. A favorite as of late as I’ve been wearing it non stop over denim and even my sweats. I’m a big fan of a utility jacket, but have always owned khaki green ones. This bone colored one is such a nice change of pace. I’ll be getting even more use out of this into the warmer temps and pair this with shorts and even dresses.
Striped Tees
I know stripes are not groundbreaking at all, and that’s why I think it’s such a great basic to have all year round. But especially in the spring. This one is giving me all the 90s vibes. It’s slightly ribbed, has thin multi-colored stripes and just has that all-around 90s vibe to it. I swear I had this exact striped tee as a kid. If it had a lettuce hem it would be a total nostalgic piece.
Khaki Green Pants
Whatever color you want to call these, olive green, khaki green, they tend to be my go-to color choice for bottoms come spring. These are an elastic waist (YES) with a fabric belt. And the loose fit through the leg on these cotton twill pants makes them insanely comfortable. When I pulled these on I was in love. I also can’t even believe that they’re from Walmart, along with the rest of the outfit actually. I’ve worn them multiple times already and know they’ll be a favorite. Such a nice change of pace to all the denim I usually wear. I’m trying very hard to branch out and not wear denim for every single outfit. And these relaxed yet perfectly tailored pants feel put together while being comfortable.
Nude Block Heel Sandal
A must have for every closet, period. I have been wearing my nude block heel sandals for years and they are almost ready for retiring. These Sarah Fling block heel nude sandals are the perfect replacement. A bit more elevated, more classic and totally comfortable. Like, so comfy. If you’re not familiar with the Sarah Flint brand, they are definitely a splurge, but the quality is superior to any shoe brand I’ve ever worn. And I’ve tried some expensive designer ones over the years. You can read my full review here along with my $50 off code for AID readers.
A great block heel sandal can easily be worn with all your favorite dresses, shorts, and denim. Wear them to the office, to weddings and events, or just out and about on the weekend. I opt for a lower block heel to be my go-to so I can wear it with everything and be more comfortable. You’ll have them for years!
