You never forget your first major brow moment. That time that you realized that doing your brows makes a serious difference! Ever since that day (and yes I remember it vividly) I have been trying different products and techniques to master it at home. Your brows really can make or break your makeup look. And having the right products in your makeup bag is key. Besides filling in your eyebrows to make them feel more complete or substantial, using styling wax can help create more shape and control to your brow hairs. I recently tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax and couldn’t believe my eyes!
Anastasia Beverly Hills is known for her eyebrows. It’s what put her on the map many years ago. She’s known for creating the perfect brow shape on any face. Plus, supplying beauty enthusiasts with the products and tools necessary to recreate a great brow at home. And this styling wax is one I think everyone should have in their makeup bag. It’s like an instant brow lamination without the salon visit to give you lifted feathered brows with a mess-free application.
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Freeze Styling Wax
I’m someone who has quite coarse and thick brow hairs. They don’t really budge a ton, but a styling wax can help tame unruly and coarse brows like mine. Which is great! But the other thing a great styling wax can do is give you those coveted feathered brows. I’ll be honest, this is much easier to hold for hours when your hair isn’t as coarse as mine, but it still helps and makes a big difference. If you don’t have as coarse of hair, you’ll see that this will hold your brows up in a lifted and feathered look for hours on end. It’s super easy to use too and doesn’t take a lot of time to figure it out. All you need is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax and some spoolies.
Here is a quick before of my brows. I have pretty thick brows as it is but they have a few unruly hairs. Wait until you see the after when I apply the Brow Freeze to create a lifted and feathered look. Here’s how to do it.
How To Use The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax
Step 1
Pick up a small amount of product onto a new clean spoolie. I just gently tap the spoolie into the pot and as I lift, rotate the spoolie to add it around most of it. You do not need a lot of the product at all. A little goes a long way. I maybe tap it twice at most! Then as you brush it into your brows, I like to go in the opposite direction of the hair growth to work it into every hair.
Step 2
Now that your brows are coated in the styling wax and brushed up, you can start to sculpt your brow into their desired shape. You will want to play around with this a bit and figure out your best look. The length of your brow hairs may play a role in this too. And don’t be afraid to trim them a bit with some tiny scissors. You will likely brush them up in the direction of the hair growth, and then use the spoolie to sort of shape them into your brow shape for the longer hairs.
Step 3
Press the stick of your spoolie onto your brows so that you get a hold that locks brows in their desired shape. I find that this just helps to reinforce the styling wax and shape.
Step 4
Now that you have the desired shape you want, you can fill in your brows as normal. I found doing this after the brow gel was best because you could easily see where you have any sparse spots. Depending on the brow products you use, you may prefer doing this prior to, or after. I love the NYX Life & Snatch brow tint pen and I think this works best after the fact. If I was using my iT Cosmetics brow pencil (you can see my review here), I would likely do this before hand and then maybe fill in where I need to once they’re done.
The wax of the Brow Freeze can make it a tad more difficult to get product onto your skin so keep that in mind. But at the same time, the Brow Freeze may move around your already applied brow product. Just test it out a few ways to see what works best with the brow products you already use.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Review
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze is really a crazy cool product. It lifts, tames and sculpts your brows giving the prettiest feathered look. It helps to sculpt every hair into a great shape and hold for hours. I think as someone with fairly coarse brow hair, this still did a pretty good job of sculpting and holding. When I first tried this product I was truly blown away by how it worked and the results I was getting. It honestly looked like I had just gotten my eyebrows laminated. And it was insanely easy to use and figure out. Plus, if you feel like you didn’t do a great job, just brush them back and try again. It’s really fool proof!
Personally, I think this would be absolutely mind-blowing with already laminated eyebrows as you have tons of control over your brows once you’ve done that. I’m a bit tempted to try doing it at home with this easy to use kit. I will report back if I try it! But overall, I think this is a great product to keep in your makeup bag especially for days that you want a more statement brow. Definitely isn’t an everyday product, but one I now find myself using when I want to do a full glam face of makeup.
Anastasia Brow Freeze Dupes
The Anastasia Brow Freeze is $23, so if that is a bit out of your price point, or you want to just dip your toes into styling gel, there’s a great due out there to try. The e.l.f. cosmetics brow lift has rave reviews and is only $6.
