If you follow me on Snapchat (username MyStyleVita) you’ll know that over the weekend I had the MOST fun camping at Barnsley Resort. Okay, it wasn’t really camping, but when I think of camping, this is how I want it to go down. A beautiful resort, a house to my self, warm cozy bed and the most amazing food ever. Oh, plus a spa treatment or two. So it wasn’t quite camping, it was definitely a fun and glamorous girls getaway in the outskirts of Atlanta at Barnsley Resort. I have NEVER heard of this place before and after asking a few friends who have been they all said I had to go and experience it for myself. So off I went with a few of my blogging friends like Mae Amor, Peaches in a Pod and Turquoise & Teale plus some new friends too!
Barnsley Resort is about an hour outside of Atlanta and is an easy drive from the city. I arrived and was welcomed by their beautiful entrance with a view of the golf course. Once I checked in and settled into my own little cabin, we were off to lunch at Woodlands Grill. I think I had one of the best meat and cheese plates ever here. The restaurant overlooked the golf course and there was a slight breeze coming in through the screened porch. This place had finally hit fall (which the city hasn’t yet) so it was nice to feel the crispness in the air and see leaves beginning to fall. After lunch we headed for a spa treatment followed by a little horse back riding. It took everything out of me to try to stay awake after wine and a massage while riding my horse. Good thing we went slow!
Once we cleaned up we headed out to the ruins to enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars. It was hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. The chai creme brûlée for dessert was definitely one I need to recreate at home. After dinner we made the short walk back to the cottages and enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit. Plus an after dinner cocktail of coffee and Bailey’s. Then it was off to bed to lay my head and get some rest for the next day. The following morning we had a big cowboy style breakfast to fill our bellies. Afterwards we went to go clay shooting. I have never been before and was super excited to try this sport. I’ve shot a gun a few times in my life, but just at a fixed target. Having a moving target to hit was so much more exciting and I am proud to say I nailed the sucker several times. Not bad for my first try! Lastly we had a lovely lunch al fresco in the middle of a field while cozied up in my blanket scarf. It was the perfect way to end our trip before we headed back home to reality.
Thank you to Barnsley Resort for hosting us for the weekend.
