I’ve shouted it from the rooftops before, you need a high potency serum in your skincare routine. It’s the best way to target your stubborn skincare concerns. Whether it’s fine lines, dullness, or pigmentation, serums are super concentrated with active ingredients to actually change your skin. A super popular ingredient to look for in a serum to help combat fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, dark spots and just about everything in between, is the do it all Vitamin C.
Vitamin C is a super potent antioxidant. We all know antioxidants are good for us. Both in consuming fruits and veggies that have it, but also is beneficial for your skin. This vitamin is rich in antioxidants which helps to fight free radicals and can aide in the regeneration process of your skin. Which means it can help fight off that daily damage of UV and air pollution. What it comes down to, when you eat or apply antioxidant rich ingredients, is keeping those cells healthy. Not only does Vitamin C combat these environmental stressors, but since it’s acidic, it also triggers your skin to heal and produce collagen. All things that help your skin look younger, less dull and more glowing.
When shopping for a Vitamin C serum, you can find ones with a potency of 5% up to 20%. The higher the percent, the more active it’ll be on your skin. If have super sensitiveskin, you’ll want to aim for a lower percentage. Today’s post is all about the Beautycounter Vitamin C Serum that has a combined 10% ultra-stable vitamin c forms in their formula.
Beautycounter Vitamin C Serum Review
I’ve been a fan of some of Beautycounter’s products for a few years now. I tried them out not because of the clean beauty aspect, although I know many people do, but simply because I heard their products were effective. Beautycounter is known for their cleaner beauty and skincare mission. I personally could care less about “clean” beauty, because I think it’s a bit of hype. But I do know there are some products in their collection that I use and love. Like this charcoal mask, their lipsticks and a my go-to Overnight Resurfacing Peel. This Vitamin C serum is one I’ve been using for a few weeks now and have definitely noticed my skin looking a lot less dull.
This is one of Beautycounter’s newest products, their Counter+ All Bright Vitamin C Serum. With 10% vitamin c, which is quite a lot, this serum can help brighten skin, reduce the look of dark spots and help to fight off new formation of dark spots. And with any vitamin c skincare product, it helps to fight off future damaging effects from the elements. There are two types of ultra stable Vitamin C ingredients in this serum. First, 5% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, and 5% Bis-Glyceryl Ascorbate.
Beautycounter Vitamin C Serum Benefits

Vitamin C helps to turn dull skin into brighter skin. Plus, this Counter+ serums has Myrciaria Dubia (Camu Camu) Fruit Extract which is an antioxidant that helps to brighten your skin. It also helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots.
Even Skin Tone
All of these ingredients also help to even your skin tone. The ingredient that gives this serum its yellow hue, curcuma longa tumeric root extract, also helps to even skin tone. Along with the 10% vitamin C of course.
Reduces Fine Lines And Wrinkles
Since Vitamin C is an acid, it helps to encourage your skin to heal which helps to encourage production of collagen. This helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
How To Use The Beautycounter Vitamin C Serum
Start With Clean Skin
The best way to maximize the benefits of any serum, is to always start with freshly cleansed skin. Always do a double cleanse. That’s two whole minutes of cleansing. Sometimes that’s two different cleansers, or just one cleanser for two minutes. You can then tone to ensure you exfoliate and remove any dead skin you may have missed.
A Little Goes A Long Way
Apply one pump to your finger tips and press the product into your skin. You can also go down your neck as well. This product is not only potent, but also one pump is just enough to do your entire face. With a higher price point, this is an important thing to note. You’ll get a lot of use out of this bottle.
Finish With SPF
After any skincare products, you want to make sure you also end with SPF. This protects your skin, especially that new skin that’s turning over thanks to all your potent high quality skincare products, to ensure they do their job! SPF is the #1 you MUST be doing or this all is a waste of time and money. Period!

My Honest Beautycounter Vitamin C Serum Review
I started using the Beautycounter Counter+ All Bright C Serum over the winter. My skin was feeling extra dull and in need of a boost. I started using this as part of my morning routine for my serum. After several weeks, I definitely felt less disappointed in my skin. It felt a lot less dull after adding it to my routine. Long term, these ingredients should help to keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay.
Another thing I like about this product, although has NOTHING to do with the efficacy but it’s definitely a nice thing, is that the bottle and pump are great. And the product doesn’t really have a smell. Which I appreciate. I know some people are super sensitive to fragrances in skincare products and this didn’t bother me at all. It’s definitely no ta reason TO buy or NOT to buy a skincare product. But if you’re very sensitive to scents, you may consider this a good selling point.
