Was anyone else absolutely devastated last year when you found out that Victoria’s Secret was discontinuing swim? A good portion of my swim suits all came from there, easily 75% of them. I remember buying my first underwire, push up one that made my girls look great back when I graduated college. And ever since, I’ve been investing in new suits from them year after year. They were affordable, fit well and came in great styles. Now that this will be the first summer we can’t shop the beloved selections, I thought I’d share some new brands and places I’ve discovered for great suits.
While in Thailand back in January, I brought my lamest of swimsuits. The boring black triangle top we all have and a few neon colored bottoms. The combination was boring and so un-fashionable in my opinion. I was so disappointed in my choices that I didn’t Instagram anything while at the gorgeous Phi Phi Islands or in Phuket. Pathetic. What kind of fashion blogger am I? So after that trip I set out to find new suits that are fashionable yet still affordable. So click through today’s slideshow to see my favorite brands and stores to shop for new suits this season.
1. Maaji
I discovered this brand several years ago and they continue to be some of my favorite suits. A lot (if not all of them) are reversible making them worth the slightly more expensive price tag. I love all the fun prints and colors they use along with the unique silhouettes and strap details. Sure, these aren’t ideal for tanning, but I still wear them and love them! You can shop them at some of my favorite online retailers like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Shopbop.

2. Everything But Water
While on a cruise with some bloggers back in November, I learned I have the worlds worst selection of cover ups. It’s mostly my own fault because I usually dislike the kimono’s and anything giant and baggy which many cover ups tend to be. I usually just opted for cotton racerback dresses to solve this problem. But I was envious of everyones pretty coverups. So before heading to Thailand I stopped into Everything But Water (first time ever) and found several affordable coverups. I wore this one featured here in Thailand and am finally accepted the looser shape. They’re flattering just fine when they’re in a super lightweight fabric. Everything But Water has a great selection of suits as well with a wide range of pricing.

3. Aerie
I’ve been a fan of Aerie suits for quite some time now. I’m currently eyeing this one piece to add to my collection. They’re super affordable and fit great. They also have a decent selection of cover ups, bags and accessories so you can knock out most of your shopping in one full sweep. Most of their suits are under $35 per piece and you can usually buy while they’re doing a promo which is quite often. That’s one deal I love!

4. J. Crew
J. Crew always had some swimsuit options, but lately they’ve upped their game quite a bit. Between classic pieces and preppy stripes, there’s definitely something for everyone here. This one shouldered red and white striped one just screams classic summer and I think it’s just adorable.

5. Express
Yes! Finally Express came out with swimsuits and I’m obsessed! Love this palm print one piece. They have so many great affordable options and fun prints that I can’t resist. Also, this is usually my go to place for one of those said racerback cotton cover up dresses.

6. Target
Target is always a go to when you’re in need of an emergency swimsuit. Their prices are incredible and the styles are usually pretty fashion forward. It’s hard to not walk past their swimsuit section while in the store and grab just one new suit for the season there. The price tag makes it a lot less painful too!

7. Zappos
With their amazing free shipping and returns and super fast delivery, Zappos is a favorite online retailer. Their swim section is fantastic as it’s full of great designers and options. Since swimwear isn’t necessarily too trendy, it’s nice to be able to get some good pieces from here. I personally shop the L*Space collection on Zappos and love their suits so much.
