It’s now a tradition that every year for The Blog Societies Annual Conference, we bring in our favorite makeup brand, Mary Kay. They’ve always made us feel beautiful year after year and this year was no different. Typically in the past, in Charleston and Chicago, we relied on Mary Kay to find us a makeup artist as we were never familiar. In Charleston, we worked with Maggie for both years. And in Chicago, we had Shannon who has quickly become a favorite Instagrammer of mine. When we knew we would be doing this years conference in our hometown, it was a no-brainer who we’d ask to come in to do our makeup. JennySue Makeup, of course! She’s been a friend for years now thanks to the blogging world and we couldn’t imagine anyone else doing our makeup every morning.
We got all set up in our beautiful suite at The Hotel At Avalon. The natural light was perfection (until the storm rolled in…. don’t get me started on it!). There was tons of space to spread out and we kicked off the weekend with a little champagne and makeup. A few of my favorite products that Jennifer of JennySue Makeup used on me was their concealer. I use it every day myself, but it was nice to have a professional find me the perfect shade. I was actually using the wrong one! For my foundation, we used the Mary Kay TimeWise Matte-Wear Foundation. I’m super oily, so this was a great option for my skin type. It was my first time wearing it and I really loved it. I’ll be ordering it for my makeup drawer ASAP.
With a pinky bronze smokey eye, we finished the whole look with my FAVORITE lipsticks, their Gel Semi-Matte. I have them in several colors and they are truly my go to lipsticks. Since I was wearing a lilac dress, we went with Mauve Moment. A color I surprisingly didn’t already own. We finished the whole look off with a good spray of the Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray. This helped to set it all and ensure it didn’t budge for the night ahead.
A quick FaceTime call with Jennifer’s adorable kids. You can also clearly see my makeup free face here before Jennifer got started. Such a transformation, right?
