While getting my looks ready for a shoot a few weeks ago, I noticed I grabbed not one, but three different pairs of black booties. It’s funny because last year I don’t think I owned any but these cut out ones from Aldo. A year later, my collection has grown significantly and I’m finding myself doing that thing you do when you justify yet another black dress; but it’s different than the others! Am I right? I am. Period.
So today I thought I’d share some of my favorite black booties as I’ve realized they’re as important as a great LBD in your closet. From my favorite edgy flats like you’ve seen here, to a more classic and casual version that goes with almost everything like these. Below are a few of my personal favorites that I know you’ll love! Plus, they’re insanely versatile so you can wear these all now with jeans, tights and more for winter, but they make for a great transition shoe to help you go from winter to spring easily.
Classic Chelsea Boot
Truth, I don’t own a Chelsea boot just yet. And if you ever wanted a know, a Chelsea boot is defined as an elastic-sided, ankle high boot. They’re a classic that go with everything and will never go out of style. I’m thinking of stopping this Topshop one up since they’re on sale for only $42.

Winsor Block Heel
I own this same bootie in the sand version and have worn the heck out of them this season. If you’re needing an everyday black bootie, this is the one to get. It goes great with jeans, dresses and more. Plus it’ll be great with flowy dresses to help take you into spring! At just under $100, these are totally worth it. PS they’re also SUPER comfortable.
Jeffrey Campbell Cutout Booties
To satisfy the edgy gals out there, these Jeffrey Campbell boots are just the thing. I love the metal detailing and the cut out sides of the boot. They make for a year round bootie that you’ll swear by. And if you’re looking for a fun pop of color, they come in a few fun color ways.
Vince Camuto Linford Bootie
When I got these Sole Society black booties with a natural heel, I realized I had been missing a pair in my closet like this the whole time. You see, there’s something about the natural heel that makes these a lot more casual making them great for everyday and weekend wear. I love these Vince Camuto ones with their bow detail on the back. I’m kind of a sucker for a bow detail!
Sole Society Natasha Boot
For a relaxed style with a touch of boho, these Sole Society ones fit the bill. At under $100, they’re great for casual outfits that are sure to be comfortable.
Sam Edelman Shelby Boot
If you’re looking for something that’s a little dressier that can easily go from 9-5 to cocktails, this is your boot. It also comes in a suede version if you fancy that instead. Having that one great pair of black high heeled booties for the office, will make getting ready in the morning that much easier. Plus, they’ll work great for the weekend for getting a little more dressed up!
Topshop Amy Boot
It’s all about the details with this one. This bootie reminds me of my FCUK ones you’ve seen here. I love the buckle details and all the hardware on them. It makes for a statement bootie that you’ll definitely get compliments on. I didn’t think I’d wear my FCUK ones as much as I do, but trust me, the detailing will keep you coming back to them over and over again. It’s a simple way to dress up an all black look too!
