Every so often I find myself recreating a look over and over again. Lately, this has been in heavy rotation. Starting with great jeans, a spring perfect camisole and a blazer. It’s the perfect way to dress up jeans for an effortless everyday look that can go from day to night easily. Plus, I’m having a major high school throwback with where these pieces are from. As usual, my Abercrombie obsession continues.
The Best Blazers For Spring
I always feel like a great blazer can instantly elevate an outfit. You’ve seen me do this here to complete a great sweater and leather leggings, and here over a classic LBD. Here’s the thing, adding a third piece to your outfit instantly completes your look. The blazer is my go-to way to effortlessly elevate just about anything. Just like adding a denim jacket is my favorite way to complete a casual look. And for spring, there’s so many lightweight blazers you can style over your new spring pieces to create great looks.
When looking for spring blazers that don’t feel like you’re just wearing your 9-5 suit blazer on the weekend, choose the boyfriend style. A boyfriend style usually is a bit longer and ever so slightly oversized. It’s got a little less tailoring but still isn’t sloppy. Keep an eye out for fun detailing like great buttons, a pattern or even a more trendy fabric like silk or sateen (like this one). You can also totally repurpose these more stylish blazers at your 9-5 so you can get more out of your closet. Just pair with sleek pants or a dress to get more use out of them.
The other thing I look for in a spring blazer is obviously fabric and color. Leave the boring black blazers in your closet or for the office. Instead, embrace spring and summer fabrics like linen, cotton, eyelet and seersucker. And choose colors that compliment your spring wardrobe. Right now I’m in a total lilac mood and really anything light and pastel. And you can’t go wrong with a classic white blazer. It’ll go with so much of your wardrobe and be a really easy and quick addition to any outfit.
