I’m home! I just got back last night from our Miami girls trip. It was SO much fun. It’s always nice to catch up with the girls with a little R&R too. The next time I see Emily she’ll be walking down the aisle. I can’t believe how everyone’s lives in our little blogger girl gang has changed over the years. Yes I’m still the single one in the group, but my hair has gotten longer, so there’s that.
Today I wanted to share my look from #TBScon. Well to be honest, this is what I wore for two of the three days…. You see. I have an obsession with Madewell that I officially can not deny. Not that I ever have tried to deny it. But day three of #TBScon I finally realized I have a uniform. And this is it. I had planned on wearing this jumpsuit for the third day which involved a lot of sitting. This jumpsuit isn’t really ideal for sitting and it would require to wear Spanx. Bad idea.
Instead, I grabbed these jeans, which were meant to be worn on our last day exploring Chicago. And then the best everyday blouse in my opinion, my go to silk courier shirt. I threw it on and looked at myself in the mirror, and said “well, this is what I wore yesterday, just different fabrics”. I literally wore these jeans but in this wash, and this shirt in this fabric instead the day prior. So basically the same outfit. Just ever so slightly different. Well I did add this leather jacket to the mix which is a closet favorite. You’ve seen me wear it here and also here.
I realized though that this is my uniform. And this is what I need to buy more of. I think it’s easy to try to buy new things and try new styles. However, you end up spending a bunch of money on styles you may not really love forever. But in the end, this is what I’m happy in and what I end up reaching for in my closet. So instead I think it’s time to invest in more button down blouses like this one. Only took me 30 years to figure it out. Job well done.
PS I may just frame that last photo. We had so much fun getting to hang out with Rachel Martino while in Chicago and we all look so pretty. Totally frame worthy.
