Anyone else obsessed with Kristin Ess on Instagram? She’s the hair genius behind Lauren Conrad, Jena Dewan (my new favorite brunette bombshell) and also the new Target hair care line, Kristin Ess. She’s got me all inspired to zhush up my hair in more fun ways. I’m guilty of wearing my hair the same way all the time so adding a fun clip, sparkly barrette, or a gold ponytail holder helps to change things up a bit. You’ve seen me pop this circle clip in my hair a few times now and also this pretty brass one from Etsy.
THE BEST HAIR CLIPS TO UP YOUR HAIR GAME
Round Favorites
Had to kick this list off with the ones I’m wearing the most, round clips! These are such a fun way to update your half up or low pony. Add them in to a braid for some dimension and to dress them up a bit!
Brass Barrettes
I picked up this brass barrette from Etsy over the holidays and it’s been my go to clip ever since. They have several different shapes and I’m eyeing all of them to be honest with you.
Pony Tail Holders
One of the easier pieces to add in, just switch out your classic ponytail holder for one of these. They add a pop to even the simplest ponytails. Personally, I love these in a low messy pony with a few pieces pulled out in front.
Statement Barrettes
If you want to go bold, add a fun statement barrette full of sparkle and glam. These are great for dressing up just a simple sweater to wearing to a wedding.
Statement Bows
I’m not a bow in the hair kinda girl usually, but these bows may have changed my mind. I’m loving a low pony with them which I think is a more laid back way to wear it. If you rock this with a high pony you risk looking like a wannabe cheerleader.
Hair Pins
Inside the Kristin Ess gift set over the holidays, she had a fun rose gold pin. You know the kind you use to throw a bun up in your hair like you did in high school with a pencil? So that was something I was never able to do (and still trying to figure it out to be honest). But here’s a few fun pins and sticks to throw in your hair that feel totally 90s and I love it.
