I have fond memories of Halloween as a kid living in Montreal. The one I remember the most was when I dressed up as Belle. We headed to my best friend Jenny’s house to get dressed. I think her little sister was Arielle, she was some sort of princess and I think I was Belle. Since we lived in Montreal, it inevitably snowed every single Halloween that we lived there.
As an adult, I despise dressing up and participating in anything on Halloween. It’s true. There’s just something about being in character as an adult that really creeps me out. Makes me feel uncomfortable. I can’t explain it, but I’m not into it. I prefer to stay home on Halloween and avoid interacting with adults in costume as much as possible.
The one thing I do love about Halloween though, is the candy obviously! When it comes to the candy, how can you not love fun-size candy? It’s simply the best. Perfect size for a little pick me up. I’ve got a few Halloween candy favorites that I always loved getting in my trick-or-treat bag. My candy preferences have definitely changed though. I used to be all about the chocolate. But fun fact, I’m not into chocolate that much. But, I do love a Junior Mint! The chocolate and mint combination is my absolute favorite. But the rest of my favorites now are all fruity or sour. The best.

My 5 Favorite Halloween Candies
1. Junior Mints
2. Skittles
3. Starbursts
4. Swedish Fish or Gummy Bears
5. Nerds
I think some people are shocked to hear how much I love a Junior Mint. But I do. I think they’re so underrated. I also only like them when they’re soft. So I always gently squeeze them to make sure the inside is still gooey. If it’s hard, I don’t eat it. Because then it’s just a York Peppermint Patty and that’s not as fun as a Junior Mint.
