It’s true, I’m lipstick obsessed these days. From drugstore favorites to the most fancy products like today’s. I don’t discriminate but I sure do have my favorites. When it comes to a great lipgloss, Burberry’s Velvet Lipgloss is hands down my favorite.
I discovered this velvety soft (I mean it’s called velvet for a reason!) while in London earlier this year with Burberry. We took home TONS of product, but there’s really just two that I now swear by. This Burberry lipgloss is one of them. The second is this incredible mascara that I now swear by which you can learn more about here.
Best Luxury Lipgloss
There’s a few reasons why I absolutely love this product.
Great Colors
First and foremost, the colors are amazing and perfectly pigmented. They’re saturated and show up well. I like to use fawn (bottom right in the flat lay) for everyday wear. It’s a great neutral but different enough from my natural skin tone to really show up. For a more dramatic color I really love the bright plum. It’s not too moody for summer, which makes it a great year round color. Next on my to buy list is definitely Military Red because I’m a sucker for a red lip.
Feels Great
The composition of the product is what I think I absolutely love the most. It’s a whipped matte lip color. Almost as if they took a lipstick, and whipped it to a light and fluffy texture. It doesn’t dry out your lips and feels really wonderful throughout the day.
Wears well
I’m known for getting lipstick all over my face throughout the day. I’ve ended up with it on my forehead before. I don’t know how it happens, but it does. There are a few brands I swear by that don’t get all over me and melt off my face and this is one of them. The color also wears off evenly I find which is always key.
Price Point
At $34 a tube, and lasts for quite a long time, I’d say this is a pretty decent price point for a luxury beauty product. My most expensive lipstick in my makeup bag are these Sisley ones (Sisley also has a great cheek stick) and I do love them, but at $55 a pop, it’s not in everyone’s budget. Plus, the Burberry Lip Velvets I find are a more everyday product so you can totally justify the slightly higher price point.
