New year, new me, right? Well why not update your beauty routine a bit with a few of my favorite new products that I’ve been loving. If you’re anything like me, the start of the year is always a great time to push reset on so many aspects of life. Whether you want to simplify your routine, add in some fresh products or just do a few upgrades and replenish old products, I’ve got you covered today.
I did a giant purge and reorganized so much of my house these last two weeks. Something about getting your drawers and closets in check makes life just feel a little better, right? One of those spaces that got tackled were my vanity drawers where I store my makeup. I got rid of products I wasn’t loving, expired, or were just taking up space and weren’t really necessary. My space is fairly small so I have to be selective and although I may one day want that blue eyeshadow, I just don’t have the room for it. Instead, I made room for some of those new favorite products that have been used almost every day lately. These are the products that made the cut in my 2018.
New Beauty Products To Try In 2018
1. Urban Decay Bronzer
This bronzer is the perfect amount of bronze-y. Is that a word? It should be. If you aren’t super sold on heavy contouring, give this bronzer a go. It’s not too saturated allowing you to build it as you please. Use it as a contour, or just on your cheeks to give that pale winter skin a bit of a color boost.
$28 Urban Decay Beached Bronzer
2. iT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Foundation
I received this foundation a few months ago and have been wearing it every day ever since. I love how lightweight it is but gives you a truly flawlesss finish.
$34 iT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Foundation
3. Becca Cosmetics Highlighter
This highlighter is SO freaking good you guys. Just a little bit on the cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupids bow and you look like you’re ready for anything.
$19 BECCA Highlighter
4. Burberry Lip Velvet in Primrose
You’ve heard me rave about this luxury lip gloss in the past here. I recently added this fun pink hue to my collection and it’s a great everyday pink. The Primrose color is such a good pink and has me ready for spring! Fawn is my other go to color that’s a great neutral for everyday.
$34 Burberry Lip Velvet
5. MAC Extended Play Gigablack Mascara
While in Santa Monica with Garnet Hill, the makeup artist on set used two mascaras on me. I want to say the first one was just your go to Maybelline, but she then switched out the mascara for my bottom lashes. I know this seems sort of strange to have TWO mascaras for your eyes, but trust me. It’s worth it. My mascara tends to transfer to my skin super easily (I’ve tried so many and always found it a problem). I also rarely ever caught that it happened until after I left the house. This MAC Extended Play mascara does not transfer. Period. I only use it on my bottom lashes as it doesn’t give enough oomph for my top ones. I use this on my top lashes along with the primer.
$18 MAC Mascara
6. Urban Decay Contour Brush
I started using this brush for my bronzer and contour a few months back. I love the angled feature making it super easy to contour without going crazy.
$32 Urban Decay Contour Brush
7. Mary Kay Lipstick in Poppy Please
And also Always Apricot and Powerful Pink, because I can’t get enough of Mary Kay lipsticks. I know you’ve heard me rant and rave before about MK lipsticks, but guys, you have GOT to try them. These three colors have been in heavy rotation.
$18 Mary Kay Lipstick
8. Sisley Brow 3 in 1 Pencil
I recently tried this brow pencil over the holidays and have been using it almost every day ever since. The color is great and looks super natural. Plus the 3-in-1 makes doing your brows super quick and easy. Brush them with one end, fill them in with the pencil on the other end and if you want a little highlighter, the middle opens up for a touch of highlight.
$62 Sisley Brow Pencil
