I’m notorious for being the person who puts on a lipstick and within an hour it’s all over my face. It never fails. To be honest, I really have no idea how it happens, but it does.
One thing that has helped this phenomenon is lining my lips with a liner. Other than that, I’ve had to mostly switch to the best non smudge lipsticks like liquid lipsticks that are more permanent and stay all day.
I’ve tried a ton of lipsticks over the years and although I LOVE my Urban Decay lipsticks and am obsessed with my Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk. But there’s a time and place for them when you have the patience to reapply throughout the day.

I love the formula of this liquid lip velvet from NARS. It comes in a bunch of great colors, but this matte red in Don’t Stop is so good. I probably wear this the most out of anything on this list. If red’s not your thing, there are lots of other colors to choose from soft brown pinks to burgundy and deep mulberry. But this is a great cool red if you’ve got olive skin tones like me. Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip
I got my first Kylie Lip Kit a few years back and seriously love it. It’s such a great matte formula and really great staying power. I don’t use the liner, just the liquid lipstick. But the liner helps to ensure your lipstick does stay all day long. There are many great colors from warm reds, pinky beiges and my favorite hue, One Wish.

A newer product in my lipstick drawer, this Butter London matte lip cream is so great. It’s a lot less permanent than the others, but stays put very well.

Haven’t personally tried this MAC lip stain, but have heard RAVE reviews. It’s also a bit creamier and glossier than most of these matte lipsticks in this roundup. Lots of great pinks and reds to choose from too. Easily grab this at MAC or any major department store.

One of my favorite lip products, this Maybelline Super Stay Matte Lipstick REALLY stays all day long. It also feels great which I think is super important when looking for a non-smudge lipstick as many can be super drying. This is going to be my go-to drugstore find for sure. This matte lipstick has the MOST color options from super light nudes, all the pinks and reds you can think of and lots of deep dark moody hues too. I’ve been an avid user of NYX Professional Makeup lip creams and glosses for years. Its one of my favorite drugstore brands when it comes to lipsticks.
