Anytime I travel, I always find myself wanting to snap fun Instagrammable moments for the feed. Sure it’s the influencer in me, but my friends who aren’t ones seem to love it just as much. We all love to snap a great pic for the ‘gram. While planning a trip I always like to save some inspiration photos to my phone or my Instagram. Whether it’s a cute backdrop, fun street art, or a gorgeous lookout with a view, I like to try to check them out when it fits into my itinerary. And while visiting this beautiful city with some friends, we definitely found some amazing photo spots in Lisbon.
The Most Instagrammable Spots In Lisbon
Hands down the most popular Instagrammable places in Lisbon are simply all the great doors and tiled walls! This was one of my most favorite things about Lisbon was all of the stunning tiles paired with colorful doors. They were around every single corner and I just loved it. I couldn’t decide where I wanted to snap this particular outfit photo in front of so I just chose them all! These were all within a few blocks of our Airbnb that we stayed at in Lisbon. And just a couple of blocks down was this stunning courtyard that overlooked the water. There was bougainvillea everywhere making it extra Instagram worthy.
All of the colorful bougainvilleas reminded me of Greece. One of my all-time favorite things ever. I dream one day to have a bougainvillea tree at my house. This courtyard was just 2 blocks down from Portos De Sol at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. I highly recommend checking it out. It was just beautiful and so colorful. Made for gorgeous photos, don’t you think?
Where To Take Instagrammable Photos In Lisbon
I didn’t get to make it to ALL of my bookmarked locations to snap pretty photos. There were a LOT to be honest, this city is so photogenic. Here’s a few spots that I visited personally and also wanted to visit. Will definitely bookmark these for my next trip when I visit this colorful city again.
And if you’re looking at day trips from Lisbon a few popular locations that are also photo worthy are Cascais and Sintra. We did not make it to either of these and wish we had more time on this trip to check them out. The photos I’ve seen are stunning!
Portos Do Sol
A restaurant and bar with the most stunning views in the Alfama district. There’s also a Miradouro right next to it to get the full view of the city. You can see a picture of this spot here.
PS Miradouro just means “lookout”. There are several all over the city and they almost all have a place to grab a coffee or pastry!
Belem Tower
This tower is so stunning and the backdrop is definitely picture-worthy. You can see this tower here included in my big Lisbon travel guide. It’s a pretty major tourist attraction so if you’d like to avoid the crowds, head there early in the morning.
Carmo Convent
A stunning gothic church that you can visit and has some beautiful architecture. Perfect to snap a photo at and explore.
Bairro Alto
A bohemian neighborhood of steep cobblestone streets and colorful houses. Visit the Rossian Square for a pretty photo in the heart of the city center. And don’t forget about a photo with the Elevador da Bica coming down the streets. They’re iconic to Lisbon and this is an area that you can find them running.
Miradouro de Santa Luzia
Where all that gorgeous bougainvillea is! This lookout point (that’s what Miradouro means!) was full of bold tile and blooming flowers and trees. Plus a stunning view of the water. Find the location here. There was also a gorgeous bright coral door and beautiful painted tile.
The Pink Street
We never did make it to the Instagram worthy pink street but it was on my list! It’s in fact, PINK! Technically, they call it Rua Cor de Rosa. You can see it here and get the location. This is such a fun spot to check out and snap a photo. This area is located in the Cais do Sodre neighborhood which is near Time Out Market which is a great spot to grab some food. The street used to be the red-light district of Lisbon and this helped to transform the space and bring in some new businesses and tourists. To snap a photo here without a ton of people, head there early in the morning. But not too early as reportedly, there can still be trash in the street that hasn’t been picked up yet from the garbage collectors.
Santa Justa
This super cool elevator is ornate, stunning and bold. It only cost a few euros to ride to the top to get to the observation deck. It’s located in the Rue Santa Justa neighborhood and you’ll get incredible views of the Baixa neighborhood. You can learn more about it here.
LX Factory
A great spot to check out cool installations, cafes and street art. Here you can snap great photos of all the cool art. But definitely take some photos of all the incredible food!
Coloful Tiled Walls & Doors
These two photos were taken just around the corner from our Airbnb and near thePortos De Sol at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. But you can easily find these walls and doors around every corner in Lisbon. So no need to necessarily seek these two out, but if you’re in the area, definitely snap an Instagram worthy pic!
The Blue Tile
The blue tile building in this post is at 80 Escolas Gerais. Just a few blocks from Portos Do Sol. This area is a great viewing platform and you can pick up a pastry and coffee to sit and take in the views.
The Hunter Green Door & Gold Tile
This bold door and tile combination are a few blocks down from the blue tiles here. I loved this color combination and it was one of the favorites we discovered throughout the city.
