It’s hard for me to break out of my usual black bag routine even when it comes to summer. I have to really force myself to pull out the white bags, pastel ones and totes. A few months back I spotted this Cult Gaia bag somewhere, now it’s EVERYWHERE, and knew I had to have it. I actually don’t own a good summer clutch. I have a white leather one, but that’s about it. So this was a great way to add a fun summer piece to my collection. It’s so pretty that it actually sits out on my buffet as decoration when it’s not being used. It’s just that good you guys.
So with the weather warming up and the transition from winter to spring is finally underway, today I’m sharing some of my favorite spring bags and they’re all fairly affordable with only a couple being right under $400. Which if you ask me, in a great color, is worth it every once in a while. Most of today’s selections though are actually under $200 and make for a great addition to your closet this season.
Best Spring Bags Under $500
1. Frye Ilana Leather Saddle Bag
A crossbody is usually my go to bag these days. I like to keep my hands free and since they tend to be on the smaller size it forces me to only keep the essentials in my bag. I love this cream one from Frye and all it’s pretty hardware.

2. Chelsea28 Scallop Faux Leather Tote
For under $100, this tote is a solid affordable find. The laser cut detail and scalloped edges makes this pretty bag a must have to throw all your things in and go. It comes in 4 fun colors but this light blue is definitely my favorite. If you’re not ready for full on color just yet, it does come in black and beige.
3. Kate Spade Hayes Street Isobel Satchel
I have a Kate Spade bag that I’ve worn non stop this winter. You may remember it here which was a favorite look this winter. Their bags always hold up year after year and in my opinion, are worth the money. This sweet bag comes in more standard colors like cognac and black, but how can you resist this warm guava color? Yes that’s the name of it and it’s so perfect!
4. Louise et Cie Jael Crossbody
Every wardrobe should have a good brown bag. Whether it’s tan, cognac or beige, you must have something in this color family if you ask me. One for fall/winter and one for spring/summer. This Louise et Cie one is adorable and loving the patchwork detail. It also comes in a light blush that makes for a great neutral too.
5. French Connection Coy Shopper
If you follow on Instagram you may remember this bag from a few weeks ago. I love a good raspberry kinda colored bag for spring. They add such a fun pop of color and surprisingly go with quite a few things like pinks, blues and browns. This one from FCUK is the perfect price point and will make a bold statement.
6. Clare Vivier Gingham Clutch
My leopard Clare Vivier bag is one of my most used pieces in my closet. It was worth every single penny. For summer though, leopard isn’t usually my preferred print. But gingham, yes gingham is! This leather gingham bag is great for casual sundresses, but also works for a night out with sleek white pants and a silky blouse.
7. Cult Gaia Gaia Ark
It’s no secret this is the “it” bag of the season. Every damn blogger has it (which makes me regret buying it to be honest). However, if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve picked this up in this dark stain color or even the black. I like to be a little different when I can and that’s one thing I wish I did. So who wants to trade?
