The one type of dress I do not own many of, are maxis. I think they’re hard to come by, ones that are flattering at least. I find them to be overwhelming on my body too. But the ones I have found, I do love. I’ve had this pink one from Club Monaco for years that I still have in my closet from 8 years ago. And then there’s this one from Free People that I’ve only worn once. Can’t explain why, even though I think it’s so pretty! And this is probably my most worn maxi ever, I love the bright orange hue!
Since the weather has gotten a lot warmer around here, and we’re still in loungewear all the time thanks to COVID, I’ve been on the hunt for comfortable dresses. Ones that I can wear around the house, to the store, and still look put together. I’m just sick of leggings, anyone else? I stumbled onto a few cute dresses at H&M and this yellow tiered maxi has been on repeat. I recently wore it to a front porch dinner with some girlfriends!
Maxi dresses are just so comfortable and gives you a good excuse to not have to shave your legs. Right? They’re perfect for wearing on warm-weather vacations, to family BBQs, and even if you’re going to a casual summer destination wedding! Rounding up a few more maxi dresses to shop below.
my maxi dress style tip!
And a little style tip for maxi dresses, if they need to be cinched at the waist, a woven belt for summer is perfect for this! I just picked up a few at Mango that I’m loving (you can shop some of them here). They help to create a little more shape for the more flowy dresses. Even if a maxi has a cinched waist, you can add a woven belt any way to elevate you look a bit more.
