Come summertime, I’m all about a great summer sandal. There are so many fun options out there from summer espadrilles to cork sandals and all the lace up strappy options. And let’s not forget the easy to throw on and go slide, my favorite! And my go-to for feeling dressed up but still comfortable, a low block heel. I always have way too many summer shoes and I blame the fact that they’re usually a heck of a lot cheaper than fall and winter boots!
I wanted to share a few of my favorite go-to summer shoes that will take you from now through the end of summer. From events to errands, to just lounging by the pool. These are my favorite summer shoes to grab right now.
The Best Summer Shoes To Buy
For me, a great summer shoe should do a few things. First, it should be comfortable! I am too old for uncomfortable shoes these days. Second, they should feel summery! Whether that’s canvas, rattan details or a summer print, I love a good shoe that feels like summer. And lastly, they shouldn’t be TOO expensive. There may be one major splurge here, but other than that, these pieces are pretty affordable!
I finally stepped outside my STEVEN Greece slides (I own the white, black AND tan) and grabbed these cognac leather slides from the cupcakes and cashmere collection. They’re super comfortable and go with so much. I’ve been sliding them on to quickly run errands without having to skip a beat because they go with everything. They basically live at my front door these days. More everyday comfortable slides below!
It’s no secret that I think espadrilles are a MUST HAVE for summer. I mean I did a whole damn post on it! These Castaner wedges are so comfy and are my second pair from the brand. You may remember these bow wedges. Another favorite, but sadly no longer available. These lace-up ones are great and go with so much. They have tons of styles and colors to choose from too. Shop my favorite Castaner espadrilles below. And PS, this is THE way to tie your espadrilles so they’re stable and more comfortable.
I believe sandals should be strappy, right? It’s just how it goes. I love these Tamara Mellon ones that have the see-through part on them. They really elongate your leg even as a flat. It’s great! But even lace-up strappy sandals, or heeled ones are always fun for spring and summer. They go perfect with little white dresses and even jean shorts and a tee. PS you can check out my Tamara Mellon sizing review post here.
A Great Neutral Low Heel Sandal
A true mandatory shoe to have, a neutral comfortable sandal. Dressy enough to wear out or with a nice sundress, but also simple enough to pair with just jean shorts and a pretty top. I’ve been wearing these Schutz sandals nonstop but have to admit, they aren’t SUPER comfortable. They need a little more breaking in. These Sole Society ones are super similar if you want something under $100! Below are more neutral favorites that I am loving.
These cork slingback flats are a perfect addition to your closet. Great for the office, with a sundress, or how I styled them here with simple jeans and a pretty top. They come in three colors and are currently on sale for a little under $100. Bill Blass always makes a fun shoe and these are a perfect neutral! Cork shoes are always a great idea for spring and summer. They go with so much and instantly feel summery.
