Come summertime, I’m all about a great summer sandal. There are so many fun options out there from summer espadrilles to cork sandals and all the lace up strappy options. And let’s not forget the easy to throw on and go slide, my favorite!
Also, my go-to for feeling dressed up but still comfortable, a low block heel. I always have way too many summer shoes and I blame the fact that they’re usually a heck of a lot cheaper than fall and winter boots!
I wanted to share a few of my favorite go-to summer shoes that will take you from now through the end of summer. From events to errands to just lounging by the pool. These are my favorite summer shoes for women to grab right now.
The Best Summer Shoes And Sandals Under $200 To Buy
For me, a great summer shoe should do a few things. First, it should be comfortable! I am too old for uncomfortable shoes these days. Second, they should feel summery! And that can mean a few fun things.
Whether that’s canvas, rattan details or a summer print, I love a good shoe that feels like summer. And lastly, they shouldn’t be TOO expensive. There may be one major splurge here or there, but other than that, these pieces are pretty affordable!
I find that every spring and summer I may splurge on one expensive shoe. But overall, I like to keep my shoe purchases under $200 whenever possible.
I finally stepped outside my STEVEN Greece slides (I own the white, black AND tan) and grabbed these cognac leather slides. They’re super comfortable flat sandal and go with so much.
I’ve been sliding them on to quickly run errands without having to skip a beat because they go with everything. They basically live at my front door these days. More everyday comfortable slides are below!
Wear them with shorts, dresses or jeans. You’ll find yourself wearing a flat slide the most for summer. You can go dressy or casual with them too. There are so many options!
It’s no secret that I think espadrilles are a MUST HAVE for summer. I mean I did a whole damn post on it! These Castaner wedges are so comfy and are my second pair from the brand. You may remember these bow wedges. Another favorite, but sadly no longer available.
These lace-up ones are great and go with so much. They have tons of styles and colors to choose from too. Shop my favorite Castaner espadrilles below. And PS, this is THE proper way to tie your espadrilles so they’re stable and more comfortable. It’s a game changing hack that has made me fall back in love with my espadrilles.
I believe sandals should be strappy, right? It’s just how it goes. I love these Tamara Mellon ones that have the see-through part on them. They really elongate your leg even as a flat and with the nude ankle straps. It’s great!
A Great Neutral Low Heel Sandal
A true mandatory shoe to have, a neutral comfortable sandal with a low heel. Dressy enough to wear out or with a nice sundress, but also simple enough to pair with just jean shorts and a pretty top.
You can either go low block heel which I love. they tend to be the most comfortable and easiest to walk in. But a kitten heel is also great. These lilac strappy kitten heels are a favorite in my closet. Shop similar items and more low heel sandals below.
A cork shoe is such an essential for summer. You can find them in a variety of styles too. From little ballet flats, to thong sandals, and wedges.
Cork is a material that just screams summer. It’s lightweight, has such a pretty neutral color to it, and goes with everything.
The above pointed toe flats are sadly old, but linking lots of great cork shoes below to shop.
The chunky sandal trend is definitely hot for summer 2023 shoe trends. You can try a few different trends like an edgy Dr Marten sandal. The Clarissa is a great option. Or even just the plastic Birkenstocks Arizona Eva sandal is a great option too and super affordable.
But another option is the Dad sandal. A more chunky 3 strap sandal that has a slight platform. You can even do a Teva or Reef, or try something designer like the Chanel or Dior ones. I know those are well over $200, but including them below as they are so cute!
White Summer Sneakers
While sandals, and wedges are great for summer, you do still need a great sneaker. I like to choose canvas fabrics over leather whenever possible. This will help keep you cooler as it’s more breathable.
Personally, I live in my platform Converse and wear them with truly everything. Dresses with Converse, shorts with Converse, jeans, matching sets you name it. They work. A few other canvas options include Supergas, Keds and Vans.
You can also try an espadrille-inspired sneaker too. These are a really pretty option that feels a little more special than just a white sneaker.
