When you’re about to head out of town for either a fun vacation or a work trip, the footwear choice is key. Not just for completing your outfits, but for comfort too. Oftentimes our travels are full of walking and exploring, and having comfortable shoes that you can rely on are key. From exploring big cities, to wearing a comfortable business flat for a tradeshow, shoes and comfort are key!
I remember spending HOURS at tradeshows at my previous job and there was nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes. So today I’m sharing all my personal favorite comfortable shoes from sneakers that go with dresses and jeans for versatility, to great sandals and flats for business trips.
Best Travel Shoes For Women
When finding the right size for your new travel shoe I have one essential tip. Try these shoes on at the end of the day when your foot has swelled a bit. Your feet get bigger and swell throughout the day of walking and standing.
If you try on a pair of shoes in the morning and buy them, you’ll probably regret your purchase after a day of exploring at your destination. Always try shoes on when they’re at their biggest! And that’s always at the end of the day. This tip really works for all shoes, but especially important in any shoe you know will be a big walking shoe for you in your closet.
Cute And Comfortable Travel Sneakers For Women
A favorite brand of mine that are stylish and somewhat comfortable. These are what I’m wearing in the above photo. There are several options to choose from and they’re all great choices to wear for comfort and styling outfits with. They go with dresses and skirts and feel very cute and casual no matter what.
I do feel like the leather and vegan leather shoes need to be broken in prior to your trip. My Veja’s are not my walk 20K steps a day shoes, but they are my walk 10K steps a day ones. And once they’re broken in, they’re pretty comfy. They run fairly true to size.
One of my most comfortable pairs of shoes in my closet, Allbirds are the ULTIMATE comfort shoes. The classic runners are probably not as cute to pair with dresses and skirts, but they’re really great for every day exploring in a city or out on an adventure. They do have several other options from the ballet flat to slip-ons and even the new Tree Pipers kind of feel like an Adidas All Star or Veja with the more sleek design. These would be perfect with dresses and skirts to maximize your outfit options.
My personal favorites and ones I wear the most behind my Vejas. I love my Converse because they’re super comfortable to me (I know some people don’t love them because there’s not a ton of support) and they go with my entire closet. And I personally love the platform ones (have a whole post on platform sneakers here too) and think they work with shorts, jeans, dresses, skirts and work for my travel days too. I also wear these no-show socks with them which is a must when wearing them for travel.
Ugg Cahlvan Slip On Sneaker
For a cute and stylish slip on sneaker that’s comfortable, look no further than the Ugg Cahlvan. They come in several colors and leopard (it’s a good leopard!) and will also pair well with dresses, skirts and jeans.
Ecco Soft 7 Sneaker
Ecco is known for a great comfortable sneaker. These Soft 7 sneakers are a cool sleek leather sneaker that comes in tons of colors. I love the white because they just work with so much while you’re traveling. But they also come in black, warm grey, red and even a fun snakeskin which is a good neutral print if you ask me.
Stylish Flats And Sandals For Travel
Born Faro Platform Sandal
This cute platform sandal is not only stylish but made for comfort. With a padded sole and adjustable straps, this sandal is great to wear with all your outfits and even out to dinner if you need it to be super versatile. Born is known for making a comfortable sandal and this fun platform makes this brand feel new and fresh.
Naturlizer Dorsay Flat
A d’Orsay flat is a classic style that can be great for dressing up your outfits or if you’re heading out on a work trip. Naturalizer shoes are built with their signature N5 Contour technology that includes a contoured foot bed with arch and heel support, dual-density cushioning and flexibility. The lining is also breathable making it ideal for spending hours on your feet in.
Aerosoles make a really great comfort shoe, and they have lots of great options. From the classic ballet flat to loafers and more. These will work with all your 9-5 work outfits and pairs nicely with jeans for a put together look in an instant. Aerosoles is a really great comfort shoe brand and you can always count on their shoes being a favorite to keep your feet happy.
