It’s no secret that I am OBSESSED with white tees. I’m just a white tee and jeans kind of gal. It’s my
What Makes A Good White T-Shirt
There are a few things I look for when buying (yet another) white t-shirt. First and foremost it’s the fabric. I usually like my tees to be as close to 100% cotton as possible. It allows for a more breathable shirt that you can really wear all day long. Cotton fabric is also softer and washes well.
Next, I look at fit. I like my white tees to be a tad fitted but nothing skin tight. This would fall under “relaxed” I suppose. Sure that changes with the styles, but for the most part I like it to be fitted enough to show off my shape, but a tad loose so that I can tuck it in and it not be skin tight to my body. This is totally a preference. Most of the shirts featured today fall along these lines of fit. I definitely have a variety of fits in my closet. But if I wanted on white tee forever, it would definitely be a more relaxed fit over fitted.
As for the length or style, I prefer a good short sleeve, not a cap. And I like it to be long enough to wear on its own with jeans, but not too short that it’s showing off my belly. A good front tuck is perfection with this length too. You can wear it tucked, or untucked, or partial tuck. The all mighty versatile length. But with high-rise jeans being a favorite, even cropped ones can sometimes work depending on your closet.
PS I am wearing a size small in all of these tees.

Madewell Whisper Cotton Pocket V Neck
I want to start this out with the tee I probably wear the absolute most. As in, I probably re-buy this tee every 9 months to a year. Truly I should just buy a dozen of them as if they’re a Fruit Of The Loom 12 pack of tees. The reason why I love this perfect v neck pocket tee is probably because the V is perfection. It’s super flattering, just long enough to tuck or not tuck, and is oh so soft. The side slits on the shirt make it look polished enough to wear untucked as well
My one complaint about the Madewell whisper cotton fabric, it is fragile. This shirt will not last you years. It’s a super affordable price so to me, it’s worth it knowing that.
Reformation Joplin Tee
The newest tee in my collection. This one reminds me of a cool European long tee. It’s a popular style overseas the elongated slim tee and they’re not easy to find. I love how light and thin this one is. It can be tucked in for a more polished look or left out as it has a more loose fit. It’s not too long so it works either way. The sleeves are also slightly longer which is a nice change from most of the others here.
Marine Layer Swing Crew
This brand is not new to me, but owning their pieces is. I’ve fallen head over heels for their tees. They are SO soft and rival my Alternative tees. This one is 50% supima cotton and 50% modal making it silky soft!
How To Style It
This tee has a heavier fabric weight to it allowing you to wear this with lots of different things and throughout the year.
Madewell Whisper Cotton Crew
I recently picked up this scoop version of the Madewell tee collection and also grabbed it in grey. It’s got a scoopy bottom and a crew neck and I just love it. It’s insanely soft and not too sheer.
How To Style It
Because this one has a great scoop hem it’s personally the best one of the bunch to wear untucked. It’s such a good clean, crisp silhouette that it’s perfect for tucking into your nicer pieces to dress them down a bit.
Alternative Apparel Rocker Tee
This tee has been in my closet for YEARS. As many of you know, I worked at Alternative Apparel as a Southeast sales rep for several years and my job was to well, sell tees! This one was a personal favorite as it was our “elevated” basic. That’s when I fell in love with the word elevated! It was truly an update and more expensive option compared to our inexpensive 100% cotton tee. It was softer, higher quality fabric and had a more fashionable looser fit. I love the rolled sleeve hem and the fact that it’s 100% cotton and garment washed, meaning it’s super super soft. Looks like I still got the sales pitch down!
How To Style It
I personally think this tee needs to be tucked in, at least a front tuck. It’s a bit on the boxier side but can be worn either way. Personally, I always find myself tucking this one in though.
Madewell Short Sleeve Harley Tee
This is a new addition to the Madewell everyday tee family and I was on the fence about it. I usually don’t like my tees to be cropped, but this one isn’t like an aerobics tee from the 80s kind of crop. It’s just cropped enough and I 100% approve. This crew neck tee is a much thicker fabric than the whisper cotton tee which is kind of nice. It’s not sheer at all. Plus the fabric is a little more substantial fabric and is only $15.
How To Style It
Since this tee is slightly cropped, I recommend wearing this one with all your high waisted jeans or skirts. This tee would be ideal with some high-waisted wide leg jeans and a fun chunky wedge.
Caslon Rounded V-Neck Tee
I grab this tee in several colors every Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I personally prefer the petite version because it’s a more normal length. And I have a long-ish torso so that says a lot! The regular can be a tad longer than I like. If you’re into a scoop neck, this is a great tee to get. It’s not too low, but opens up your neckline a bit for a flattering shape.
How To Style It
This shirt is super universal. It’s not too long (if you go with the petite) and can be worn tucked or untucked. It’s a tad sheer so I recommend a nude bra with it, but you won’t be a mess if you went
