I warned you a few weeks ago when I rocked this crop top that this may be my new favorite thing to wear. I wore a leopard version and now a classic white one with pops of red. I also love these wide leg Madewell jeans so much (and really all wide leg jeans) that I finally grabbed them in the lighter wash. They are really the best wide leg jeans that I’ve found and are pretty affordable. For some reason I always gravitate towards super dark washes, mostly because they tend to be the most flattering, but I just get into a habit too. I can’t wait to wear them for a more casual take on my favorite silhouette.
I think everyone should invest in a great pair of wide leg jeans. If they’re your first pair, definitely opt for a darker wash as you’ll get more use out of them and they flatter almost everyone. Reach for ones that come in a higher rise and that are hemmed perfectly to touch the ground. Any shorter and you’ll look crazy. I’m also totally fine with them dragging a bit for the truly boho vibe they embody. And always, always get ones that have great pocket placement on the butt. Poor pockets (or lack there of) on a bum is not flattering when it comes to wide leg jeans. I’ve linked to some of my favorites below. Not sure how to wear a wide leg jean? I love to wear them with either a fitted tee tucked in, or a loose crop top like I’ve done here. It’s important to keep things balanced so don’t wear a big blousey top or you’ll risk looking messy.
