Yesterday I saw something incredible on social media. White women (and black and those of color) sharing incredible influencers and content creators who are black women AND men! I realized I do not follow enough. And I have no reason why. But in an effort to diversify my feed, and support my fellow content creators, I was so excited to follow some new faces. I wanted to share them here in case you’re interested too.
This is obviously a very small step in supporting the black community. But I think we all spend quite a bit of time on social media and why not hit that FOLLOW button on some fresh faces? I think this also helps to challenge the implicit bias that is rooted in us. There’s still so much more to do as a white privileged woman in this industry. But starting with supporting those around me, is not only a fun start but an easy one!
7 Black Influencers + Content Creators To Follow
@asiyami_gold
The most incredibly beautiful images and editorial content from style and travel. I mean, just take me to any of these destinations she’s featuring. She is also the founder of Shop.AU with some beautiful pieces! And if that wasn’t enough, she also has presets you can purchase to make your photos look just as beautiful as hers.

This is a new follow for me but just by looking at her feed, she is on cheery, happy human. And I love that! She also has a big YouTube channel all about creating a happy home and healthy mind. One of my favorite types of accounts to follow on Instagram are decor and interior accounts so I am SUPER excited about this one.

I love a good plant account, so why not add this one to the mix?! Not only does @hiltoncarter share lots of plants, but it’s also a lot of interior spaces too. Plus, he just came out with a book in April, Wild Interiors! And if that wasn’t enough, he also has an Airbnb experience class on how to propagate! Have you ever propagated anything before? I’m attempting it for the first time, so far, nothing happening. May need to take that class!

One of my favorite interior design accounts shared some AMAZING similar accounts ran by black women yesterday and this was one of them. Élan is more of an interior account showcasing her raffia wall hangings and artwork. It’s absolutely stunning. Her feed is beautiful! May just need to purchase one of these for my house. And that is also another thing I hope to do more of, is highlight black owned brands and businesses for my followers to shop from.

This girl kills an iPhone mirror selfie. How does she do it?! I’m obsessed. Not to mention her outfits are perfection. Stylish yet minimalist. Not sure how she pulls it off with the iPhone but consider me officially inspired. And maybe just maybe, I’ll take more iPhone mirror selfies and look half as good as she does.

I’ve been a long time fan of Candace’s blog and just love her personal style. I feel like we have a slightly similar style so it’s nice to see how other’s are wearing pieces I own, or have similar in my closet. And her photos are gorgeous! She also did an incredible video yesterday on her feed that I highly encourage you to check out.

Cool, casual, minimalist style. So obsessed. She’s also a Paris based blogger so you can get a taste of the Parisian life too with her. Super excited for this new follow!
