You know when you go shopping and you ask yourself if something is worth it but only if you can make 3 outfits of it in your head? Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this. It’s just my way of ensuring I can dream up different looks so I’m not just wearing it one way, or only wearing it once and being done. When I got this pretty little black linen romper in the mail, I instantly created a few looks with it to see if I should keep it. I loved it the moment I put it on so I knew it was a keeper. But I feel like sometimes I just need to challenge myself and actually put the outfit on to see it in all its glory so I had to try it a few ways.
One store I always forget to shop at is & Other Stories. It’s a Swedish company that has super cute trendy clothing at reasonable prices. I am always in my Madewell and LOFT hamster wheel, so it’s nice to find something new and cute at another brand for once. And this little black romper was a perfect new addition to my summer closet. I love the button detail on the straps and the flattering silhouette. Plus, you can easily remove the linen belt and swap for your own.
Two Ways To Style A Black Linen Romper For Summer
For a comfortable and easy outfit, I left the romper as is with the linen belt and just added comfortable gladiator sandals. I love my brown leather gladiator sandals that I’ve owned and worn for years. Finally this summer, I picked up a black pair. One thing I don’t have is a ton of black summer shoes. Just some black espadrilles and one pair of slides. So these were a nice addition to my closet and helps me to style more black pieces for the season. A straw bag completes the look.
Since this is still a nice all-black outfit, this can easily be worn to dinner, or just out to lunch for something casual. I love how versatile black can be in the summer and I feel like this romper proves just that!
Shop The Look
To make this black romper feel a little lighter in color and more summery, just add neutral lighter accessories. This is one of the tips I also included in my big post on how to wear black in the summer. It can make a little black dress (or romper) feel so much more summery by adding summer textures and lighter hues. I swapped out the linen belt for a rattan one. I can’t recommend adding one of these to your closet enough for spring and summer. They instantly make an outfit feel special and are so affordable. And finish off the look with espadrilles. My go-to Castañer wedges are a no-brainer and have been a favorite year after a year. Another good investment. And make sure you’re tying those espadrilles the right way.
