I recently whipped up a little lavender syrup for a project over on my Instagram. I had SO much of it, I mean who needs an entire cup of lavender simple syrup? So I decided to whip up a few other things with it before it was time to toss it. The syrup lasts about two weeks in the fridge and that’s a lot of lavender lattes for a single gal to drink. So blackberry lavender mojito recipe it is!
I love a good mojito, especially on vacation. They’re so refreshing and delicious. Mint and lime are a favorite flavor combination. And one of the things I love about a mojito is that you can add your favorite fruits to it to make it special. Kind of like a margarita. They’re great as is, but also make a wonderful base for more flavor! Since I had lavender syrup on hand, and fresh blackberries, it was a no brainer.

Blackberry Lavender Mojito Recipe
Making a mojito is really super easy, you just need some mint and limes. I almost always have a lime on hand. And for mint, I finally grabbed a little mint plant to keep on my patio along with my basil. I love having a few fresh herbs on hand whenever possible, they make dishes and cocktails so much more exciting! These are so great for summer time cocktail hour, bbqs and porch hangs with friends. Make a big batch and serve for brunch or a picnic!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz of white rum
- 1/2 oz lavender simple syrup – just 1:1 ratio of water and sugar steeped with 2 tbsp of culinary lavender. Simmer for 10 minutes, steep for 10 more, then strain.
- 3-5 fresh mint leaves
- 2-3 slices of lime
- 2-4 blackberries
METHOD
Step One
Add your blackberries, mint and lime to a glass and top with your simple syrup. Muddle with a muddler. You can also do this in a cocktail shaker if you want to strain it and keep the bigger chunks of lime and mint out of your cocktail. It’s just a preference!
Step Two
Add your ice and rum and give it a good stir with a cocktail stirring spoon.
Step Three
Garnish with fresh mint and maybe even a blackberry or two!
