There’s something I’ve grown to truly love about a great blazer. I finally invested in a few more blazers this year and I have to say, they’re getting a ton more use than I expected. I have this beautiful white one that I’ve worn quite a bit, but I was in need of some other options. This grey blazer was a great addition a few years back as well. So this season, I grabbed this pretty one from none other, Express. I also grabbed the matching pants to it which will be coming to the blog in the new year.
The great thing about a blazer is that it instantly, and I mean INSTANTLY, pulls a look together. You could throw this over a tee and Converse and you’d still look put together. An easy quick fix to feel and look put together is always a good thing to have in your back pocket.
How I Dress Up Jeans With A Blazer
Jeans and a blazer is an easy go-to trick for looking and feeling stylish. Just grab your favorite dark wash jeans, preferably a skinny fit, or bootcut or trouser for a more professional look, and a great blouse. For fall you can do a nice sweater or thin turtleneck. And for warmer days, a simple camisole works too! Then layer on your favorite blazer. It’s instantly chic and pulled together.
This is something I would wear to a business meeting since I’m in a more fashion-forward industry and it’s usually pretty relaxed. Or even an event that’s not super dressy, but also not super casual. It’s that perfect in-between outfit that feels like a safe choice 99% of the time. This works for a business casual outfit too for casual Fridays in the office. My number one tip though, steer clear of any major rips, tears or whiskering in your denim when heading into the office in jeans. You want to keep your denim as clean as possible with a finished hem, no major trendy washes and keep them a dark wash!
