I didn’t know I needed faux leather wide-leg pants until I slipped these on. And you guys, they are so good. While in the dressing room I thought to myself “okay wait these are amazing” but then was worried it was just the hype of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale getting in my head — which happens. But then I turned to my friends and asked for their feedback and they confirmed, they’re cute. While some of them may have said “those aren’t for me, but I like them” I take that as a win. And a good honest friend. We aren’t here to all look the same. So supporting one another’s fashion choices is key.
Brown and Lilac Outfit For Fall
It’s no secret that lilac has been the one color I’m loving lately. Besides my neutrals, it’s lilac or bust. And this combination of a dark chocolate brown paired with the light soft lilac is simply beautiful. Since we’re still in that in-between weather stage and not quite yet in fall, adding these lighter shades is a nice touch. Plus, this lilac blazer is actually linen. While I typically would shy away from mixing leather and linen (it’s just kind of a huge contrast) for some reason this works in my book.
And a styling note on this outfit, I would probably suggest swapping the high neck tank for a more scoop or v-neck. A recent styling lesson I have personally learned is to keep some skin showing when layering like this. I’d do this kind of tank next time. But in full transparency, I was taking this outfit from day to night, and keeping the tank the same was just easier. Second look coming soon!
How I’d Style This For Fall
For fall, I’d still pair this with a lilac sweater like this one. It’s just such a good contrast of color and I love this combination so much. It feels colorful without feeling super bold. Because bold, I am not. Or I’d go all neutral and add a cream or beige sweater and a neutral bootie or heel. And yes, there’s a way to dress these down that I’ll be sharing soon!
Leather Pants For Fall
It’s just simply a fact that leather is it for fall. It is absolutely everywhere. While of course, a leather jacket is great, we are seeing leather in everything. Leather pants, leather tops, leather trench coats. It’s simply all over the place. I’m here for the leather pants. And there are so many options to choose from. While I have these wide leg pants, I’ve also added a few more styles to my closet. My beloved perfect vintage Madewell jeans now come in faux leather here. And I bought these as well during the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. So get ready for all the outfits in leather pants. This is just one of many to come!
