I got these brown leather wide-leg trousers from the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer. And while the weather is slowly starting to change, I am getting very excited about wearing these. You saw me dress these up here with a lilac blazer and heels. But let’s be honest, I’m a casual gal. I’m working mostly from home, and if I head out to meet up with friends, we’re pretty casual. Insert this easy and comfortable outfit of dressing down leather trousers for fall.
A Casual Brown Leather Trouser Outfit
Dressing down anything in my closet is my specialty. I’m a casual person and like to be comfortable. But that doesn’t mean I need to resort to leggings and sweatshirts. Feeling put together in a complete outfit, even if it’s in comfortable pieces, is totally possible. Here’s how I’d dress down leather trousers for fall. And this can also be said for faux leather leggings (my favorites are here).
Start With Leather Trousers
These brown faux leather trousers are so comfortable and easy to wear. And we’re seeing this trend in lots of stores now too. Start with a good pair that have a looser fit. I love this pull on style because it instantly feels more casual. Whereas a leather pant can sometimes feel more dressy. These Zara brown faux leather pants are perfect too and can be easily dressed up as well.
Add A Cotton Tee or Tank
Whether it’s a solid tee or tank, or a graphic tee, adding a simple cotton shirt to leather is a great base. It’s comfortable and casual. I went with a ribbed tank from Banana Republic which has been a closet staple for me. Since these bottoms are quite wide and looser fitting, I went with a fitted tank over a looser fitting one. Fitted tanks are an essential piece of your closet if you’re styling any sort of looser bottom, whether it’s a straight leg jean, skirt or these brown faux leather trousers.
Choose A Cool Sneaker
Swap your heels for a cool sneaker. It’s the best way to create a casual brown leather trouser outfit for fall. Choose a classic white leather sneaker like a Reebok as I did here. Or a cool dad sneaker works too. I love a chunkier trainer style shoe with a trouser or wider leg pant.
Third Layer
With any outfit, I always like to add a third piece. To dress these down add a nice topper that pulls it all together. I opted for my oversized denim jacket, or you can try a cropped version too. This would also be cute with a cropped cardigan to soften the whole vibe.
