I had skipped over Buck Mason for far too long. And finally one day a friend told me that I had to stop into the Buck Mason SoHo store in New York City. Not just to try on the clothes, but to at least check out the vibe and coffee shop they had inside. Say no more!
I stopped in and was blown away. The store was so beautifully curated, the coffee shop was inviting and people were just lounging and enjoying themselves. But then I tried on a few things. I was impressed by everything I put on. But the one thing I went home with that day was a great t-shirt. I could not live without their slub easy crew tee. I am a white tee lover, and this is hands down my most loved item in my closet.
Since then, I’ve added a few more things to my closet, specifically these amazing poplin pants that I have also been living in. I’m officially a fan of this minimalist, modern classic brand made with some of the best fabrics.
Does Buck Mason Run Small Or Large
I find that Buck Mason runs fairly true to size. When it comes to anything but their denim, I’d say I take my usual size, or the next size above since I’m a bit in-between a small and medium or a 4/6.
I would say their jeans and bottoms run a smidge on the bigger size and you may want to size down if in-between. I recently went into their store to try on some denim and the sales associate told me they recommend sizing down 2 or more sizes. That was not the case for me. I was fairly consistent, maybe sizing down just one size in denim.
One amazing perk about Buck Mason too, is that they offer complimentary hemming. If your pants or jeans are too long, they’ll handle it free of charge.
Buck Mason Jeans Sizing
This is really the one category at Buck Mason that feels a bit off compared to the other categories. I was told by the sales associate at Buck Mason that they do vanity sizing for denim and to size WAY down. After trying on a few pairs and sizes, here are my thoughts.
Do Buck Mason Jeans Run Small Or Large?
Buck Mason jeans run slightly large, actually. I wouldn’t say it’s serious vanity sizing, but you may want to size down if you’re trying things on. With many of their jeans also being 100% cotton, you do want to take into account that jeans will feel more snug at first and then shape to your body when they are 100% cotton.
The one pair I tried on and really loved was the Jet Set jean. They are a nice relaxed wide-leg jean in 100% cotton. I found myself just going down one size here. Try their original fit in Loomstate Japanese indigo denim for a really unique fit and feel. This fabric will shrink upon washing, so you actually may want ot size up if you’re in-between with this style.
Buck Mason Tops And T-Shirt Sizing Women
One of my all time favorite tees in my closet, is from Buck Mason. The slub easy crew tee. It’s truly one of the best t-shirts I have ever worn. I do a medium in this tee and find that to be consistent across the board. I’m in-between a small and medium in most things, so sizing up for me at Buck Mason feels more comfortable in the tops and t-shirts.
For button-downs, they tend to have a more straight and relaxed fit. You’ll likely take your regular size here, or size up for a more relaxed oversized fit.
But what we really need to talk about are the insanely good quality tees that Buck Mason has. As someone who was a former t-shirt sales rep for Alternative Apparel, t-shirts are sort of my thing. I have a very high standard for fit, fabric and quality. And Buck Mason checks them all off. I love that they use pima cotton and even Supima cotton, some of the highest quality cottons you can source. I’m also a big fan of a slub tee, thats when there’s sort of variations in the fabric. It gives a true vintage feel to the tee.
Buck Mason Sizing For Petites
While Buck Mason does not offer petite sizes for those who are under 5’4″, you may still be able to find some pieces here. Sizing down will likely be your best bet. But one major perk to shopping at Buck Mason is that they offer complimentary tailoring. So if you need those pants or jeans taken up a bit, they’ll handle it for you, free of charge.

A great thing about Buck Mason is that each item has a size chart. There’s no general Buck Mason size chart, it’s item-specific. On any item you’re on, you can select size guide, and a chart will pop up with dimensions so you can find your perfect fit.
Is Buck Mason Worth It?
From the handful of things I own from Buck Mason, I can tell you that this brand is completely worth it. The quality and craftsmanship of the products are incredible. I actually think their pricing is extremely fair compared to let’s say J.Crew who sells similar styles but at much lower quality fits and fabrics.
Buck Mason feels so much more elevated from the fabrics, fits and styles, that I think it’s worth it. Their pieces have held up extremely well with many wears and washes.
