I know I’ve said it before, I’m not a fan of my birthday. Never have been, never will. Tomorrow I turn 31 and I can’t help but think that that feels old to me. I don’t feel like I’m in my 30s at all. I still feel 26 at the oldest. Seriously. Yet I also feel like a 70 year old woman who loves to sit at home with her dog. #balance For my birthday this year I’m going to keep things low key. Going to dinner tonight with one of my friends who I haven’t seen in months it seems like, then tomorrow I’ll have a few friends over (if I have a couch) for game night and pizza. Then Sunday my parents are coming up to take me to dinner with my sister and brother-in-law. No parties, no big fancy dinners, just some quality time with friends and family.
I’m also looking to do one thing for my birthday this year, raise some money and awareness for a charity that’s become near and dear to me, Atlanta Humane Society. You heard me talk about it in my resolutions post here. I’ve been volunteering at least once or twice a month for the last couple of months and it’s been a great experience. It’s emotionally challenging, but rewarding. I’m also facing my fears head on of cats. Yes cats. So if you’re interested in donating I’m hosting a Facebook fundraiser which you can check out here.
