Another #BloggersDoTravel trip is in the books! In early October, I headed to Charleston with my go-to blogger pals for another rendition of #BloggersDoTravel. We’ve been doing these trips for years now and they’re always such a fun time to get together, catch up and let loose a bit. We’ve been to Charleston a bunch whether together on these trips, for The Blog Societies Conferences or separate for our own personal vacations. It’s hands down one of my favorite cities in the United States.
We just love this little city. But this trip was different for all of us. For the first time in my many years of visiting The Holy City, we headed over the bridge and stayed on Mount Pleasant. We called The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort + Marina home for a few days. And no one was complaining since The Beach Club at Charleston Resort & Marina was recognized by Conde Nast Traveler as the #1 resort in South Carolina and #2 resort in the South. Pretty cool, right?
Charleston is such an easy trip from Atlanta. You can do the 5-hour drive if you like, or take a not even 40-minute flight. If prices are cheap, I recommend flying. Parking in Charleston is difficult and expensive. And it’s just kind of nice to fly and not worry about staying awake on the ride home after all the indulgences. With this hotel being one of the more unique spots in the area to stay at considering it’s the only waterfront hotel, I wanted to share my full review of this incredible stay.
Charleston Beach Harbor Hotel Review
The Hotel
The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort + Marina had nautical notes throughout the hotel to represent the stunning marina location. There are also nods to Charleston and the charming south. It was bright and open. It felt like you were at a friend’s house and not in a hotel lobby. Even the front desk is tucked away so when you walk in, it’s not the first thing you see. Warm and inviting, just what you want!
Our rooms overlooked the pool and marina and we got to look out at the boats while enjoying our breakfast in bed. Such a treat when we do these trips! It’s something I never order usually, but this was a must. The rooms had spacious bathrooms, marble everywhere and the coziest robes. They also had large balconies that we could enjoy our morning coffee on while watching the boats go by. It was the perfect way to start our days.
And let’s not forget about the beds. They were INSANELY comfortable which is a real win for me. And turn down service, a favorite little special touch. Hotel beds are key and if they aren’t super comfy, I’m not happy. I was happy. Period. Overall, this is one of the nicer rooms I’ve stayed at in a hotel. Very comfortable and spacious for a bunch of gals to spread out and explode with all of their clothes and shoes!
The Location
Just a quick 15-minute ride or so from the Charleston Airport (yes I fly to Charleston, do not judge me) and you’ve arrived. It’s right over the bridge into Mount Pleasant. It’s also right next to attractions like Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown. Since a lot of things to do are on the Peninsula of downtown Charleston, you can easily get there by Uber or Lyft. super quick and inexpensive. I’d say if you’re visiting by plane, don’t rent a car. You’ll end up spending more on that than if you just used Uber to get to where you need to go in the area.
The Beach Club is right on the Charleston Harbor Marina where there are dozens on dozens of gorgeous boats. You can walk along the boardwalk and take in the breathtaking views. I’m a sucker for a good dock and boat situation. We opened up a bottle of wine and enjoyed the perfectly crisp fall weather we were getting that week.
Where To Eat
I’ll be honest, I would prefer to head into downtown to visit my beloved restaurants. But if you’re at the hotel and you need a bite to eat, there are some great options. We did lunch poolside one day at Beach Club Tiki Bar and ate all the things, it was great while watching the sunset. You can also dine on the rooftop overlooking the Charleston skyline at Bridge Bar.

The Amenities
No hotel stay is complete without checking out the amenities. Whether you want to lay poolside (this is hands down the biggest pool I know of in Charleston) or take a spa day, there are several things to do here. The Beach Club at Charleston Resort Marina also has a private beach. They’re the only waterfront hotel in Charleston! You can check out the private beach for true fun in the sun and sand with volleyball and cornhole. One fun activity you can check out is enjoying s’mores by the fire pits near the water. The perfect way to wind down after a busy day exploring the city. And if moving your body is more your thing than indulging in graham cracker s’mores, check out their beach yoga for some stretching and zen.
If you’re visiting with kids, this is a fantastic resort to consider. They have several children-focused activities and even summer camps too. Plus, having a big pool to splash in is a great way to get those kiddos nice and tired for bed time!
