I’ve tried so many clean beauty products over the years, and while I’m not one to try them for “cleanliness” I’m here for good products that work. Everyone has their opinion on this, but mine is that I’m just searching for products that I like and enjoy. Clean beauty is really just a marketing tactic, and I like to stand behind products I love to use and are effective. And this makeup routine is 99% of products that are known as “clean” beauty products in stores like Sephora. So if that’s your thing, I hope you try out some of these essentials that I really love.
Some of these products are also my holy grail and I wear them every single day. Period. This look is easy for every day and can also be tweaked for a more glam look. Add in a thicker brow, winged liner and bolder lip for cocktails or parties. Here’s how I do my easy clean makeup routine for every day.
My Easy Clean Beauty Routine
Prime And Set
I’ve yet to even try a clean beauty primer so I reach for my tried and true Fenty primer. If you have a brand recommendation, let me know below in the comments. As someone who is super oily, I find I need something with strong hold. And since the below products are a tad on the more dewy side, I like to set this all with a loose translucent powder. I tried the Beautycounter one (it was a pressed powder) hated it. Still using my Laura Mercier one. Everything else here though is clean!
Foundation + Concealer
The Saie Beauty Slip Tint is a fantastic lightweight tinted moisturizer. For an everyday look, I really prefer just a tinted moisturizer and this one is great. I use shade Two during the winter and shade Three in the summer. For more full coverage, Bare Minerals liquid mineral foundation is a great clean option as well. Both of these have SPF which is a nice plus!
For a concealer, I’m using the ILIA true skin serum concealer in Suma SC. This has good coverage but find it needs to be set with a setting powder or else it creases. This concealer is also super hydrating and maybe that’s why it sort of creases.
Bronzer and Blush
I swear by my Saie beauty sun melt bronzer. The big brush that they also make pairs perfectly with it. I use this all the time and it’s one of those clean beauty products I reach for any time I’m doing my makeup. I often just use it as a way to warm up my skin when I don’t want to wear anything else. But I also use it for my full glam face too. I use the Light Bronze shade.
For blush, I’m also in love with the Saie Beauty Dew Blush. I went with the color Peachy. But love all the shades just depends on the vibe I’m going for. I put two or three very light dots on my cheeks and buff it in with the big brush. You can also use it on your lips if you like!
Mascara
I recently tried the Beautycounter mascara and really loved it. The packaging is a little …. well, it looks like a vibrator. But it makes for a great mascara. I still use my L’Oreal primer on my lashes before using this as I have to glue everything down or it moves on me. Beautycounter’s mascara was recently reformulated as I heard from some of you that the old one was not that great. I’m very picky about my mascara, so the fact that I’m backing this one is a big deal for me. I rarely change up my L’Oreal mascara!
Brows
I’ve heard such good things about this Kosas Air Brow Tinted Clean Voluminizing Eyebrow Gel. I had to try it for myself and well, I love it too. I’m more recently into brow products as I am late to the game on all things brows. For years I only used my It Cosmetics Brow Power (still love it, here’s my tutorial). But more recently have been trying new and different types of brow products. This is a tinted gel that adds some great color and fullness to your brows. I used the shade medium-brown.
Eyeshadow
This is an old Beautycounter eyeshadow palette and it’s nice. I used a medium tan with a bit of shimmer over my eye and then did a little highlight with a shimmery white.
Lipstick
For today’s look, I’m using a gloss which is very unlike me. But I do kind of like this ILIA Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil. My lips always feel super hydrated and I like this light plum hue as a nice departure from my usual red. For more clean beauty lipsticks, I do love Beautycounter’s.
