When it comes to summer shorts, I usually live in my denim ones. Not surprising since denim is my all time favorite fabric. But with me spending a lot more time at home and still wanting to get dressed, I haven’t been reaching for my denim as much. Instead, I’ve been reaching for anything more comfortable and soft that’s more lounge-like if I can. Insert the best comfortable non denim shorts.
Last summer I picked up these linen striped shorts and these as well. I wear them non stop. But with only two pairs, I felt I needed to add a few more to my closet. Insert these Abercrombie & Fitch ones that come in several colors and are currently on clearance. Stock is running low, but these striped ones are available in all sizes. How I wish I grabbed the red and leopard ones. For size reference, I take a small in these.

How To Style Non-Denim Summer Shorts
Styling non-denim shorts for summer to me is mostly no different than styling my go-to denim shorts. Pair them with simple tank tops (these are a few favorites), graphic tees or even bodysuits. I like a more fitted tank when I wear these since they’re typically a little more loose and flowy than typical denim. This means a more fitted top will be more flattering. Plus, non-denim shorts can be full of fun prints, stripes and colors so it’s nice to bring in a color from the print or go simple with a white or neutral top.
To add a layer, I love a denim jacket. It’s a summer staple. But a light utility jacket is great too, or even a long light cardigan as the nights hopefully get a little cooler.
