Throughout 2020 and well, what was almost half of 2021, I’ve been avoiding really putting on normal clothes. I lived in my sweatpants, leggings and sweatshorts. And once vaccinated, ready to hang, I was still finding myself grabbing only my most comfortable clothing. Which usually meant these shorts from LOFT that I bought in three colors because they’re that good. I feel like now that we’re really in full-on normal mode here in Atlanta, I’m starting to *actually* get dressed.
One of my favorite things about summer though are the easy dresses. This Madewell daisy print dress has been in my closet for a while now but have yet to wear it! So today was better late than never. It’s such a silky soft fabric too. And the high slit on the leg is ultra flattering. My one and only note and maybe complaint on this dress is that the photos of it make it seem like it hits at the natural waist. But it’s definitely much more of an almost empire waist. Hence the reason for my belt. The waist hits right where the top of my belt is which to me, is far too high. I instantly look wider and much prefer something hitting at my natural waist. Adding a belt was an easy way to remedy this. Otherwise, this dress is perfect.
Daisy Printed Pieces For Summer
This daisy print is just so fun and reminds me so much of the 90s. A favorite print from that decade (and don’t forget all the smiley faces). Brings back so many memories. And somehow I’m 100% fine with embracing this print again. This isn’t always the case with trends that come back. I’m looking at you, low rise jeans, you can stay exactly where we left you in the 2000s.
I’m wearing it with my go-to nude sandals from the season. And straw accessories. If you haven’t added a straw belt to your summer wardrobe, this is your friendly reminder to grab one. So many great options too that are super affordable. Shop some of my favorite woven belts for summer below. Wear them over all your dresses for a good cinch!
