I was long overdue for updating my go-to denim mini skirt. I’ve been living in this button up one from French Connection for years now. It’s not going anywhere, but boy did I need to add another to my collection bad. It’s a piece I consistently grab for when I want to be cute and stylish in the warmer weather, but don’t want to wear shorts. It instantly feels more feminine and put together. When I saw this pretty bow one from the Madewell x Karen Walker capsule collection, I had to snag it. With fall around the corner, I also wanted to show you not one but two ways I like to style my denim skirts. For both summer and fall, it’s truly a piece that I wear well into most of the seasons.
For summer, I paired it with one of my favorite graphic tees, which you’ve seen me wear here with a silky midi skirt and colorful sandals. This skirt (and any denim skirt really) is such a key piece for your closet. This is usually how I wear it in the warmer weather, easy tees or tanks and sandals. For fall, I’ll take this into the new season easily by swapping out the tee for a long sleeve top and booties. Even just swapping out the straw tote, for a leather one helps to transition your outfits easily. For cooler temperatures, swap out the bootie for an OTK boot like these and a chunkier sweater like this one.
