Defining my style has always been a bit of a challenge. One day I’m very casual and laid back in jeans and a tee. Another day I’m in a chunky Dr Martens feeling edgy and way cooler than I probably am. Then there are days I want to wear a pretty dress and heels. I’m all over the place. I think for me it always comes back to being minimal and casual. And the additional style elements of either feminine, or edgy, or whatever it might be, just add a little something to my looks. This outfit perfectly sums that up in my eyes. Simple casual little white feminine dress, but paired with edgy black sandals.
You’ve seen these chunky Clarissa Dr Martens Sandals before here. They’re seriously so good. I’ve recently worn them with just denim cut-offs and a feminine sweetheart neck style tee. But I think these are so insanely cute with dresses! For summer, just pair them with girly dresses to have a little juxtaposition of feminine with edgy. It’s a combination I really love and think that’s why I’m so into these sandals.
Dresses To Wear With The Clarissa Dr Martens Sandals
White Dresses
A good black and white combo is a simple outfit. Try a linen mini dress like I did today. I love that it’s a little girly with the puff sleeve. But you could also do a more fitted dress like a cotton mini or midi. This one from Naked Wardrobe is perfect for that.
Florals
Another great option that feels feminine is florals. Any length will do. Go for a mini wrap dress, or a flowy mini or maxi. I think this is one of my favorite combinations with Dr. Martens. It embodies that feminine vibe paired with edgy sandals. And if you’re like me and you feel too feminine in all the frills and florals, pairing them with a cool sandal is the easiest way to balance it all out. I instantly think of any and all floral dresses from Reformation will work with this too.
Denim Dresses
I’m already kicking myself for not shooting this combo because I just got the most adorable little denim dress. Since the 90s are in full swing (hello Dr Martens) denim dresses are the perfect pairing. There are so many cute ones right now to choose from too. Below are a few favorites that would work so well with these sandals.
