If you wanted to know what the last real outfit was that I wore in public before COVID, this is it. This H&M floral dress was a new find that I simply loved. So much so, I knew I wanted to do a post on different ways to wear it since it’s super versatile.
It’s light, flowy, comfortable, can’t complain! You can dress it up with heels for the office, or down with chucks. I love it when dresses are that easy to swap for.
When I went to wear this to bartaco for my last outing in the real world pre-COVID chaos, I realized though that the lining went too far down in the dress. It was a nice warm sunny day and the lining made it feel a bit heavy. And I’m hot blooded, so the less material the better.
So I took some scissors and hemmed it to right at the knee. Made it instantly lighter! Just a little tip from me to you (also works on hemming your jeans too!).
How To Dress Down A Floral Dress
To dress down any fun floral dress I like to add a fun white sneaker. Whether it’s a Reebok or Chuck, anything will do. I feel like everyone has their go-to. This would also be great with a little flat sandal or slide.
And for a light layer, a denim jacket. Go classic denim, or white, or pull a color from the floral print. I like to belt this dress to give it some shape too. You could also bring this into fall super easily with a bootie and suede jacket. Can’t wait to get some use out of this one!

How To Dress Up A Floral Dress For The Office
To dress up this floral dress for the office or dinner out or a meeting, this dress really only needs a pretty and professional shoe. Personally, I’m fine with an open-toe shoe in the office. But if you’re not, you can go for a nude pump or sling-back like these.
You can also add a short cardigan or even a blazer to round it out. Between the length and the neckline, this dress is really great for any occasion
