Tufted headboards to me always read very feminine and traditional. I think they’re stunning and make such an elegant statement, but I’m definitely not any of those things. I would never describe myself as elegant or traditional by any means. After stumbling onto the above photo and falling in love with the grey, navy and brass (shocker) I thought I’d do a little digging to find some more tufted headboards and rooms that weren’t so traditional.
I think the trick to making sure you don’t create a super traditional looking room by adding this classic heaadboard, you must incorporate a few different elements. You can definitely do this by adding bold modern wallpaper, clean modern lines with brass or some boho elements. Mixing traditional with boho, or modern, to me is such a fun way to change up the expectation of a piece of furniture.
