I told you I was going hard this week with the NYE looks! But in true Jessica fashion, I’m dressing it all down a bit with my favorite jeans and effortless layers. While shopping at my beloved Abercrombie (oh you haven’t jumped back on the A&F bandwagon? You need to!) I saw this fun sequined tee. I’m not usually into sequins, but it was in a very easy everyday shape and didn’t feel TOO over the top. It’s kind of a neutral… rose gold… sequins. It’s fine.
Sequins are always a good idea!
I was trying to figure out what to pair this with that wasn’t my usual black leather jacket or white blazer. I randomly picked up my lilac blazer and thought, damn this works! The rose gold, lavender and cognac all work together here. Plus, it’s a super easy NYE look to wear that isn’t your usual black or gold. Rose gold and lilac, who would’ve thought!? I’ll also be wearing this with my hunter green faux fur coat. While in Charleston, Shelby borrowed my coat and paired it with her (much nicer) rose gold sequined tee from J. Crew. It was such an unexpected pairing and it just worked. I’ll be recreating that look in the new year for sure!
New Years’ Eve looks don’t have to be super fancy either. I think this holiday makes us put so much pressure on having the best time and the best outfit and the best party. I’m a firm believer that I want to start my new year off not miserable and hungover, so staying low key and doing dinner with some friends and in bed before midnight, is perfectly acceptable in my book! And wearing your favorite relaxed mom jeans and a sequined tee is a great way to be dressed up just enough without going overboard.
