It’s no secret that I have absolutely been loving the cargo pant trend. These have been my most worn pants lately and for good reason. They’re easy to style (dressed up or down), and are insanely comfortable.
Dressing up a pair of cargos for a night out with friends, or to head to a nice dinner and drinks, is really so easy. Treat them like you’re favorite pair of straight leg jeans. It’s no different! Here’s how I did it.
How I’m Dressing Up Cargo Pants
Add An Oversized Button Down
I love a good third piece and I don’t know why I don’t do this more often. A loose-fitting white button down is really perfect. It’s like a light jacket or layer. This is the Sezane Max shirt and it’s a great white button down basic to have in your closet.
By layering this button down over a fitted tank, I still feel like I’m keeping my shape. This way, I’m not getting swallowed by the loose and open shirt.
Add A Sexy Heel
The thing that really makes this feel dressed up are the shoes. These nude Larroudé Annie sandals are the best. The perfect neutral sandal you can wear with so much. They’re surprisingly sort of comfy considering the height.
A nude heel helps to also elongate your leg and instantly dressed up any look. For a more casual version, you could maybe try an espadrille wedge, or low block heel sandal.
Great Accessories
To finish off your look, just add great accessories. I make sure to add all my favorite gold jewelry whenever I want to instantly pull a look together and feel more elevated. Gold hoop earrings, gold necklaces, you get the idea. Just having these pieces on instantly makes it feel like you put in more effort.
And of course, a great bag. I went with my Coach Pillow Tabby and did the top handle instead of crossbody. This just instantly feels more like a night out look than day time when you choose a top handle style bag. Or a clutch style bag. Below are some more great accessories you could add to this look to dress it up.
Where I’d Wear A Dressed Up Cargo Pants Outfit
Truly this look can be an easy dinner look with friends. Not too dressy, but dressed up enough with a bit of cool vibes to it. But if you also have a nicer lunch to go to, this would work too. I think the light colors lend themselves to a day time look too.
