Voluminous hair is something new for me. Remember back in the day when that straight, flat ironed look was all the rage? You guys, I killed that look. My hair is heavy and looks fabulous when straightened. But the new look is all about the texture, the volume and the messy waves. I had to do some research though on how to get voluminous hair as my hair is heavy and I’m here to share! I’ve now been wearing my hair like that for a few years and have slowly fine tuned my tools, techniques and products. One of those new products that I’ve become obsessed with is a good texture and voluminous spray. So today I’m going to share how to get voluminous hair the right way with just one product.
How To Get Voluminous Hair
First, you may want to check out this post on how to get my go to waves. And for today’s wave which is ever so slightly different, you can get that wavy hair tutorial here. You can also totally use this on a great blowout, or straightened hair. Since my hair is so heavy, this is something I like to use when I straighten my hair to give it some oomph and texture. Once you have your desired style, curls or straight, grab your Living Proof Dry Volume Blast Spray and shake that bad boy up. Simply start with small sections and spray at the root and work your way down. Keep going through your hair in small sections. You don’t have to do your entire head, but the more volume you want, the more you’ll want to do.
Once you’ve applied the product to your hair, give it a good run-through with your fingers. This is just one product I personally love on the market. There are a few that I have been trying and loving as well. Below you can shop a few favorites. I’ve recently started using Kristin Ess’ new line at Target and have fallen in love with every product. Highly recommend it for a more affordable option.
