Sometimes it takes seeing something on a friend to be convinced it’s time to give something a try. My gal Shelby of Glitter & Gingham always rocks the cutest kimonos. I always thought they look just awful on most people. But somehow she always wears them and wears it well. While in SF a few weeks ago I popped into the mall while killing time before my flight and tried on this cute kimono from American Eagle. I finally decided to take it home and give it a whirl. If Shelby can look cute in it, then why can’t I!?
Since bringing this home, I’ve worn it several times. All similar variations to today’s look. I’ve done it with my olive pull on shorts and a tan tank. Denim shorts and a red tank. I keep switching out the colors in the print and creating new looks and it’s quickly becoming a favorite third piece to wear for summer. This kimono is now on MAJOR clearance and comes in several colors and prints. There’s no reason not to try this trend considering it’ll cost you less than $20 to have one of your own.
