Usually people tend to wear gingham and their whole outfit feels preppy. But if you know me at all, you know preppy is not a term used to describe my style ever. I did start to buy gingham pieces last summer for the first time, but they were of course not your standard ones that you’d find. Peplum tops, sheer blouses that require a black peek a boo bra and more. Definitely not your typical pieces for this classic preppy print. So when I got this Madewell dress I knew I had to make it my own and add some edge to it with a leather jacket and black high heels. It was the perfect way to transform this dress from preppy to edgy. Don’t worry, I’ll be wearing this over and over again throughout the summer with chucks, sandals and more. But thanks to the oversized cut it still doesn’t feel preppy to me at all. And that is why I love this one so much.
