I was never one to fill in my eyebrows, ever. I never understood it and really kind of felt privileged that since my brows were so dark and somewhat full, that I didn’t NEED to do it. Sure I felt a little awesome that I could roll out of bed with dark full eyebrows. But then I had someone properly fill in my brows once for the ACM awards and OH MY GOD my life was changed forever. Sure this isn’t something I would typically do to go run errands or even for my standard everyday lazy makeup. Personally, when I put on a bold lip or a lot of eye makeup, a proper brow is in order. It just completes the look and helps to frame your face.
I recently tried the Anastasia brow kit which was full of the essentials. If you don’t know, Anastasia Soare is a brow GENIUS. She came onto the scene in 1997 and is the beloved eyebrow Queen of all the celebrities it seems. So yes, she knows her brows and her kit is everything!
Her beloved brow kit including the brow powder duo is a beauty must-have. The brush, liner, duo powder, highlighter and eyebrow gel are everything you need for the perfect brow. The steps are simple and you can do them all or just part of them depending on how severe of a brow you want. I typically just use a little of the powder for day to day and add the highlighter. If I’m going all out, I do each and every step seen here. It’s super easy to do and the more you practice, the more comfortable you’ll feel for going a bit bolder when your makeup requires it.
Since brows are SO important, I highly recommend buying the full kit so that you have everything at your fingertips. IF you don’t have the kit, you can always use your favorite brown pressed powder, highlighter and brow gel to get the same effect.
How To Use The Anastasia Brow Kit
Step 1. Brush those brows! Always brush upwards, and be sure to trim any hair that is out of whack. I like to always keep small sharp scissors on hand to trim up my brows every few weeks. It makes a big difference!
Step 2. Use the brow pencil to define the outline of your brow. Follow the natural shape of your brow here, no need to do anything drastic. You can also see a guide on how to find your perfect brow shape in this post.
Step 3. Using the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow duo powder and the angled brush, begin to fill in the outline and your brows with the powder. I like to start on the inside of my brows and work my way out. Always go in the direction of the hair growth. So for me, I typically angle upwards towards the front, and then more sideways when I work my way outward.
Step 4. Use the highlighter (I prefer the shiny side versus the matte one) to highlight the arch of your brow to emphasize the shape. You can line the entire brow BELOW. Do not use this tool on the top of your brow it will for sure look crazy! But highlighting below helps to define the brow and brighten your eye area.
Step 5. Finish with the Anastasia brow gel to make sure those perfect brows stay in place! This is a great tool if you have lots of brows. It helps to keep things in place throughout the day. Great last step that I never skip on a full glam face.
